Yes. George Floyd is the only unarmed black man to have suffered such a fate isn’t he? It’s only happened the once.
It has EVERYTHING to do with us in the UK, and everything to do with us as human beings.
Because it help ignite a narrative where black people the world over began telling their stories about institutional racism. And how that doesn’t just manifest itself in policeman – and citizens – killing black people in the US, but in how black people are still treated by large sections of society.
That this message is still not getting through – as exemplified on this thread – is exactly why sports teams are still taking the knee. And why I hope it continues.
That doesn’t mean you do nothing. Race relations are far better than they were 30 years ago for example

Yup, my take on things like this are they have a bigger impact when done as a one off. After putting a bit more thought into it after my reply a few mins ago, maybe it's still a good thing for the bairns to see every week. A subject in a kids view every week has a good chance of getting the desired message across.

I absolutely don’t agree with smashing up restaurants (see Rochester NY), tearing down statues of someone who lived 400 years ago and lobbing bottles at police (some who are black) all in the name of BLM.
So I wouldn’t take a knee and think this madness needs to stop now
