Sunderland
I like a good rumour but this one has gone way too far to be believable. Sartori’s father in law won’t be involved. I can believe FFP could be involved but people are just throwing names into the mix without any credible information.
And you're saying Sartori's father in law won't be involved with any credible information! He might be involved via his son in law Juan, without being named.
Who are FFP? FPP were near to taking SAFC over a year ago and word is that F [Furhman] is going to be involved with others in a wider investment group [no takeover by one party].

Kronke and Usmanov at arsenal springs to mind.

No problem with people doubting Ryboloev being involved as it didn't sound that confident on not 606 good chances it's just Furhman if you ask me
Have they not been jockeying for control of Arsenal for some time?

Back to the subject of spending money on paintings.....on the table in the link below there is no mention of Fuhrman but look how much Rybolovlev spends on them - got some serious poke this fella

I don’t think Satori’s father in law is involved at all. I meant FPP, you know I did.

IF and I mean IF Glenn Fuhrman got involved I cannot see what the draw is for him (unless he wants the artwork in the foyet). The guy is a multi billionaire, and I can only dream of having 1% of his wealth.
Would it be a vanity project? buying the club for 40 million and flipping it for 80 million (as if). Just seems like he would pay more for a painting to stick in his downstairs and get more enjoyment from that

Lets not lose sight of the fact that the money is important in as much as the buyers need to have enough to take the club forward but what we really need is the right people involved in terms of commitment to the club in the long term.

I'd like to see a consortium with substantial local connection, i.e. people whose only interest in football is Sunderland and can't turn it on and off like a tap.

A huge amount of the damage being done to the club is because the current owners are not interested in what happens to Sunderland after they are gone, hence decisions like Bali Mumba - what other explanation could there be ?

I cannot comment on a lot of what you say here but I would say every man/woman that owns a football club is a vanity project in some shape or form.

Good that we appear to have thought about what we should do and identified a player who at least fits the profile of what we should be looking for. Bad that we pottered around with little urgency and seem to have missed out. It's got to be a bit of a worry that the salary cap seems to have taken us by surprise.
You don't know that's the case mind marra. Granted, it's not an unreasonable assumption based on our general performance and competency under this regime but if there's a revolutionised approach in recruitment maybe we should afford them the benefit of the doubt that it extends to getting the business done too.

We're clearly in the market for free transfers. The issue with that, especially if we're targeting the right players, is that the player generally holds all the cards. I think there were likely a good few offers on the table for a number of these lads with the aim of completing before the cap was introduced but it's in the player's interests for them to bide their time and hope a better offer comes along. I don't even mean financially but in terms of better leagues and more stable clubs.

I've noticed Kyle Dempsey has signed for Gillingham and Luton want Mitchell. I hope we aren't dragging out feet and only changing tactics now because of the salary cap.

I don't agree with the salary cap but we should have been planning our transfer strategy as if it was going to pass regardless of the vote. We all knew it was coming in.

This. The rumours take on a life of their own. We’ve now had at least four allegedly plausible takeover theories going the rounds in the last week alone.

I really hope a change is in the offing - the club desperately needs (another) new start but the prospect of multiple hitherto unconnected billionaires joining forces to takeover the club ? Next we’ll be hearing that after watching STID Bill Gates has thrown his life savings into the pot.
Another couple of pages and that will be quoted and sworn to be true 😂

He's not playing for one of the top teams. They went bankrupt six years ago and only got promoted 2 years ago. It wasn't so long ago they were in the Swiss non-league. If he was on £3k a week I'd be surprised. More than likely he has better options.
There are plenty of barmen in Switzerland on over £1K per week, and I had IT Engineers working for me who were on almost £2K per week; have you seen the price of living in Switzerland?
