Are people genuinely convincing themselves that this might be a good thing?

How do you know it wouldn't be?

This is a big issue we have currently, people are judged before even being given a chance!

His backers, and therefore the majority shareholders, could be amazing! These sort of people won't just cosy up with anyone, so he just have something to offer.

So, lets say that those 4 exist and when we find out their names they are s Like everyone I am highly sceptical about this bloke but the club cannot sell to someone who does not have the money. Equally, although the EFL appear more of a joke everyday after the Wigan fiasco they will be extra sensitive regarding the 'fit and proper' test.

There will be lots who will argue that Donald bought it without the money though obviously there are no parachute payments this time. As to the EFL being extra sensitive they have just designed a salary cap arrangement which beggars belief so I’m not holding my breath that they are capable of making accurate and carefully considered judegements.

I have no idea. He is suggesting strongly that he has 4 serious backers which the club know the identity, hence the club entertaining the bid. If he does have those people what would you say/think? The bloke seems an utter fantasist but simply has to have people with money behind him or the club would not talk to him.
This is my thinking. The club seem to be trying to keep him onside, which suggests they believe he has backers.

A bit like Staveley but with a better beard.

Who are his backers?

Look at his twitter. Don’t think he says covid is a hoax as such but adamant it’s being exaggerated and lockdown is more harmful
He made a couple of implications he thought it was bollocks on the radio interview alone. I’d imagine it’s a nuisance and gets in the way of his billionaire aspirations while most people who get it are minions working for billionaires trying to graft for their food.

Totally agree but Donald is only going to sell if people have money - there can be no stupid games with the parachute. So this is really not about Storey but who are his 4 backers.

So what sort are 'these sort of people' if nobody has a clue who they are?

We. Don't. Know.

The club knows.

The club are talking to him.

The club must think they are credible.

He said people are right to be suspicious and worried based on what they have read.

He said once we knew the backers we would be happy.

He also said his name will be cleared soon.

Soooooo.....this may all be bollocks, or it may be true. Until we know one way or another, why write him off?

I still wouldn't want him. He'd still be the figurehead and the chairman and it's not about money, it's about competence and he's already shown enough for me to conclude that he doesn't have sound judgement.

He won’t get the club that is even if indeed he is in for it and he knows it.

It’s a publicity stunt at best
Storey's very public tour of the town centre was designed to attract attention but for what purpose and whose benefit? I doubt if prospective buyer's are required to provide Donald with a detailed description of the interior of Jacky White's when making their bid or that many of them feel the need hang around the Bridges.

Since his name popped out of the woodwork I have been convinced that we are being had on here.

I agree with that BUT if he has persuaded 4 x serious backers who actually do impress us then he has done something which shows more substance than any of us think. The difference would be that Donald bought the club despite not having the money whereas Storey's backers would have to have the money.

If it's only their money and worth that impresses us then I'd take no more reassurance from that.
Sartori has the money, it means nothing.

Aye, imagine judging people on a track record.

Again, Storey's 'story' (no pun intended) is that we will be impressed by them as people. Like everyone I take his comments with a pinch of salt but where I am curious is that SAFC know who his backers are and are willing to talk on that basis. It suggests his bid has some substance which is a surprise given his track record.
