I dont get why any fan would think that someone from out of the area would buy the club and not think about financial gain over anything else.....the rest is just sound bytes, its all about the money.
Someone like mike ashley cockney spurs supporter stablising a northern club with massive debts and making them a long term premiership team perhaps

We don’t get a single say in any of this anyway tbf. We don’t need to make an informed decision, we have to hope the people who matter do the right thing.

And the person making the decision hates us wishes he was not here and is desperate to leave.

What could possibly go wrong 😂
You are going to be very pleasantly surprised.

?

No mate not the only one and cannot believe the light hearted nature of some of the comments on here. Honestly fear the worst with this prick, just too much ego involved.
Thing is mate this wont be happening, its a smokescreen. What has me pissed off is the fact that we are no where near a takeover.

I’d be interested to hear who his backers are. Obviously there was the rich energy/Haas crap but at the same time they look like they’ve now went into super bikes and it hasn’t blown up so far.

I can’t see how a consortium pulled together by Micky Gray would be any different too. He’s also full of shite and a gobshite!

Until then I’ll continue to believe we’ll be owned by Donald moving forward and that he’s not wanting to sell us until we go up. Enjoying the entertainment in the meantime.

Again In interview on total sport he said people did the haas deal without him or something along those lines and that would come out shortly as well

no one can say anything about any consortium unless they know who is in the consortium which no one does

This will never happen. Absolute fantasist. I don't know why people are surprised he travelled here - a £100 train fare for this much publicity? It's a no brainer.

What You Find When You Look Into Rich Energy, the Mystery Sponsor of America’s F1 Team - posted by @TeamOfTalents earlier - uncomfortable read, especially after the way he gives no solid information about anything in the interview (like hiding behind the NDA about backers and yet happy to say all kinds of other NDA-breaking stuff) . and every time he was posed with anything tricky from his past he used the kind of retorts the likes of Trump and Bill O'Reilly use..."you'll see, it'll come out soon, and I'll be vindicated" "it'll all be shown to be untrue, soon..." yet can't just say now why it's not true and he's vindicated.. .knowing full well that the 24-hour news cycle will move on at lightning speed and no one will ever go back and check.

Ive been let down a few times by the saga but finding out that fpp were purely going to use us to turn a profit, which likely would have meant minimal investment, is the worst of the lot.

I'm not sure I'm buying that mind. The blokes involved in FPP are billionaires. They'd have had no interest in buying us and selling us in the championship for, I dunno, £20m profit (buy for £25m, sell for £45m in the league above). What use would they have for £20m split 3 ways? Now, even a billionaire would be tempted by, say, buying for £25m, getting to the prem and potentially selling for £300m. If you've invested sensibly and well in the squad and it costs you £100m to do it, you're still making a very sizable profit.

So basically it only ever made sense if they were looking to buy us and take us back to the PL. And if they were going to do that, they'd need to invest. And if they did it, no one would have had an issue with them. I can't believe for a second that they were going to try and flip us quickly like Donald did.

What will happen is that Storeys bid will get pole position and then his arse will drop out when he has to write the cheque for £30m.

Subsequently leaving us right back at square one.

Its still about making money for fat mike tho. Many Sunderland fan would tell you he has done a good job but you wont hear it from a mag.

Fans are sentimental over their clubs, very few owners feel the same way.

I don’t necessarily think it would have been a quick flip a la Donald but they’ve use this same model (yes different company but most of the same people) elsewhere. The individual transaction is maybe small fry to them but they aren’t just investing in one thing at any given time. Add them all up and that’s how they get rich.

Just listening to the chap now, loves it does this lad.
Tbh he just sounds like a cocky little hustler. I’d find him entertaining in the boozer thinking I’d never have to work again then wake up and feel disappointed I had to put in a shift. It’s too risky some chirpy cockney saying I’ll tell you who it is when I’ve signed the deal. Character yes and good luck to him in life but not for me. Yes he’s right about what’s gone wrong and credit to him the guys done his homework, his marketing is slick but doing things efficiently well is another story.
