This and it brings us into line with the way other countries are reporting it. It’s not right to attribute people’s deaths to Covid if it wasn’t.

No. 28 days after a test, die on day 29, not registered as a Covid death. It’s great news. Hopefully we can get down to 14 days and barely 5000 will have died.

Depends if you die of covid while still being treated bit if you have been discharged and then hit by a bus should it be registered as covid.

If you had cancer but contracted covid and are discharged then 28 days later you finally sucumb to that cancer is it covid

28 days now. Who knows when they get the agreed path forward from Dominic. Let’s hope it gets down to 7 days.

There is something amiss, I don’t believe England are averaging 80 or so deaths a day and Scotland aren’t having any. It’s not a competition but I can’t believe we are doing so much worse than almost everyone else in Europe.

But surely a large amount of patients will die weeks after their initial COVID test while still on the ventilator if they’re in ICU so this still isn't an accurate measurement, no?

I don't think it will be 28 days from the test unless I'm mistaken.. and very few are on ventilator for that length of time

We are not talking about cancer, we are talking about a global pandemic. My point is there should be a universal method of recording deaths. Otherwise we are not going to be able to compare accurately across regions and other countries.

That was the statement on itv news this evening. Up to 28 days after a positive Covid test, it will be classed as the cause of death

the you can only assume past those days, it’s not registered as Covid
