Exactly. This is all part of their feeling of self importance. This was clearly a bit of a punt. Market conditions and issues with being approved logically made them bail.
 

Really could be a defining moment for Newcastle I think, fan base is completely broken by this and have now given up, if the PL can treat a club like this then what's the point in trying really.
 
They are absolute lunatics...mental health and suicides. Here we teeter on the brink of the biggest recession we have ever known and perhaps this, had it gone through, would have kept some of "them" on an even keel. I don't wish to trivialise domestic violence, which has rocketed dramatically in lockdown, but I wonder was there a "spike" in the last 24 hours? If so Steve Wraith and the mag media need to take a look at themselves for passing themselves off as ITK when they were merely taking an educated punt.

The Saudis have not passed the test due to Piracy and probably human rights. They would not announce that and in return for not making it public by the PL they have asked to make it look like they've walked away. They save face, the PL dont have to publicly embarrass them, Ashley get £17M and all the bad PR he had at the start of the virus gets forgotten and the Mags dont blame him. Win win win. The Saudis will buy Marseille.

This to me is obviously saying that they were never prepared to pump 100s of millions Into buying players. It was merely an investment amongst many others that they hoped they could get a return from year on year, by running the club in a similar fashion to Ashley. Mid table, take the profit each year.
