Just got back from Wast water (profile pic as I don’t know how to post pics ), lovely spot and hardly anyone there. Beautiful place, love the lakes but the less popular places are the best

I find it more therapeutic walking but fair playSat in the crown inn now so very busy!
I’ve been running round Thirlmere reservoir, up to top of Helvellyn then ran a marathon around Ullswater today.
Right mix of isolation and hustle & bustle.
I’ve not been to wast water , and many more places, looking forward to ticking them off ! Coniston marathon in October
That's the only place we know well. We were trying to get there in 2 weeks time for a lodge type holiday, but everything is booked out. Looks like we're going to end up south of Scarborough instead now.Off to Ullswater next weekend for winter droving.
not a lakes expert but it’s beautiful there
Easiest way up Hellvellyn?

Love angletarn, a few of us were up there on the Sunday morning after the pubs had shut for lockdown, been in Patterdale all weekend And went to the tarn to burn of Sunday’s morning hangover, warm sunny day, chillin by the water. My favourite spot is a bit further round from there on the way to the Knot, sit sheltered in the crags and look across to brothers water and grey crag.I love angle tarn! Great place to wild camp if you’re just starting out

Think the shortest route is probably one of the paths that come up from the a591 on the western side. Quickest probably the path up from patterdale signed for grizedale tarn, but take a right and follow the path that is clear running diagonally up to the right straight up to “hole in the wall”, then a quick skip along striding edge and your there.from Glennridding.
I’d be shocked if there was an easier way than out of Thirlmere , that’s what I did yesterday. No scrambling, all walking and all paths.Easiest way up Hellvellyn?

2 miles up and just over 3000ft climbing. Did it 1hr 10 mins.
Out of Glenridding and Patterdale you’ve got the edges to go over, I haven’t done them yet and guess they’re not too bad but I wouldn’t have fancied in winds yesterday
I took the camper up wrynose pass and hard knott pass, it was horrendous! If I was driving my run about I’d have loved it but not driving something that is something I have splashed out onLove the scenery there! Not much of a walker, most I’ve done lately is the hill behind that pub on Kirkstone pass.
Hard Knott pass and Rye nose pass are great to drive up if you’ve got big balls, some pretty scary parts but the views are fantastic.
