Cut back massively on scouting and proceeded to spunk a league record transfer fee on a player because we were desperate.

Selling the academy kids that had never won a match? Should we have kept them all?

If you want to get recruitment right you must know your market. I have knowledge of this and it's vitally important. We've just signed anyone cheap/free with history of promotion from this league. We've not looked at value in the market. Scouts make money for clubs if they're talented

It's mostly under 16- 18s weve sold. The 16s were very talented. This was proven by the prem clubs who signed them. We're in a mess because we slashed and burned the academy. It's criminal behaviour which has most of the fan base fuming

The ones we sold had won plenty of matches. We used them to bring in the likes of De Bock, John, Lafferty and so on. Excellent use of resources. You can't use cutbacks as a figleaf for incredibly stupid football actions. Hiring a Scandi scout just as the UK enters Brexit transition is just one small example of the abject lack of intelligence shown by the current owners. They're an absolute disaster and they have barely made a single positive impact to the football side of this football club.

Never mind that. Imagine that we'd had someone at the football club who could recognise that our biggest problem wasn't particularly finishing but was actually more about our inability to create chances - all stuff that was obvious back then (and is still obvious now).
