Their record is so similar to ours. Won the top league and FA cup loads of times before WW1. One cup and one league within living memory. Can't deny a fantastic year in '81/2, and a couple of league cups way back then, but apart from that they have been a yo-yo club for the last quarter century.
I'm sure Poch is eyeing up mansions in Solihull:rolleyes:
There’s no love lost with Villa and I, but this is plainly wrong. Since we last won a trophy they have won 4 league cups, 1 Championship, a charity shield, a European Cup, a European Super Cup, and played multiple times in Europe. In the last quarter of a century? Well until 2016 they had a run going of 40 years in the top division. How is that even slightly similar to our record?

Since we last won a trophy! Unborn kids have become grandparents since we last won a trophy. They last won a league cup in '96. The only thing they won since is an Intertoto certificate that got them a qualifier in the Uefa Cup in 2001. Admittedly that is more than us, but they are trying to attract the best managers in Europe. Their major historical achievements are similar to ours with the exceptions I noted. I don't think Charity Shields and 'Super Cups' count, do they?

Who are the club/s never to be relegated from top tier of football? Arsenal? I think Everton rings a bell aswel? Might be wrong.

I imagine their reply would be to look on here and see how many people thought Allardyce would jump at the chance at managing a third division team
Is that when the americans that wwnted to build a monorail and turn the vaux site into disney land were taking over?

Not really. As much as it might be up to 81 in the 39 years since they've won a couple of league cups, finished 2nd in the PL twice and actually had a title challenge going, finished 4th, 5th and 6th (about 5 times) and had over 10 European campaigns, whilst we've finished 7th twice and 10th once in 50 years. It's not really comparable.

They've struggled too but unfortunately, and just like the mags, they're mostly on a different level to us.

I know. I knew a bloke round there who had a 60ft indoor pool in his massive house, and another who made his money from fake old-fashioned iron lamp-posts who owned two Ferraris. They were still Brummies tho', and boring bassas both of them!
I was driving past Alderley Edge last weekend and saw a Ferrari Testerossa being recovered from a ditch on the A34, summed up that town quite aptly

All teams have been relegated. Arsenal haven't been relegated since they got promoted bought their way back into the top division at the end of WWI.
Everton have played the most top flight seasons. They've played tenish more than Villa (2nd) who've played a season more than Liverpool until next season, probably.

It seems like the Bournemouth fairy tale might be over. I think it’s quite sad, I like that the smaller, less fashionable clubs can break into the Premier League.
Cant help wondering if they will come back or sink, like we have

Don't mind villa me like, last few visits down there the villa fans have been spot on. Plus they hate the mags
