Our attack has changed enough for me to make allowances on that side of things. but we've the same defensive unit that we did under the previous manager, and yet the performances are significantly worse.
It's Bruce fault for playing that signing in an unfamiliar role for much of the season. It's no shock that the best performances from Joelinton have come when he's been played not as a lone, isolated targetman, but as a forward coming in from the wings. It'd be like playing Shelvey on the wing, or asking Carroll to chase onto long balls over the top.
... no. He would have stayed at Newcastle had he received (and trusted) assurances that he'd have control of the transfers, and that monies would be invested in the facilities and academy.
Were he purely mercenary he could have signed the rewarding contract he was on and merrily relinquished control of transfers etc.
