Antibody tests a waste of time and money

The group of scientists say as a positive result is unable to prove immunity, the tests offer "no benefit" to hospitals and care staff.

It looks like the big "game changer" is not so much of a game changer after all.
And your point is?

A weak dig at the gov, who are trying to get things going again would be my guess...

Me and the missus took part in the testing over here 2 month ago and it was proved as inconclusive

For what it’s worth and trying not to spread the gloom, a Chinese (yes I know) study found antibodies from badly affected patients to be significantly reduced after 2-3 months.

Surely by having test and measuring peoples antibodies then testing them again further down the line to compare will give more info on how it affects people

They already have. The antibodies were significantly reduced after barely 2-3 months.

I wouldn't trust a single test for anything but I think what the article is getting at it that even if you get a positive antibody test there is no evidence that it give you any immunity so it shouldn't change how the NHS operates so thy would be better spending their resources on something else.

However, most people would probably like to know if they have had the virus but again I wouldn't make massive changes to how I behave based on just one result.

My Mrs place has 50 staff, they all had the antibody tests. Bare in mind this is front line.

2 positive with antibodies . Docs, nurses , support staff

Its kind of important if antibody tests are useless, not political at all!!!
They're not useless.
Atm you don't know if they stop future infection.
If people have antibodies and then later get infected again, this will help understanding of the disease, surely?
If no one gets the disease after being tested for having antibodies, then this is also positive, the longer it goes on.
