Black Lives Matter

I’ve not read the whole thread but are you saying you were an ‘all lives matter’ poster who has entered into a debate about race and has gone away and researched counter points and statistics giving serious thought to the counter argument. If so hats off, though I would say that is a very rare occurrence and that you will be the needle in the haystack on these types of thread.

It's ridiculous the amount of people that haven't researched or created their own opinion on this, but instead followed others, or those that only read statistics/articles that suit only their agenda.

For me, before the movement, I'd have argued that 'All Lives Matter', however since the protests (and actually researching) I feel a fool.

I've researched loads into it from both left and right wing sources whilst having so much free time during lockdown. It's clear that racism is prevalent in society, despite black people having a cultural disadvantage (as Hutzz mentions).

Well I would say some good points have been made which I had maybe overlooked given the fact I am not BAME and not from a disadvantaged background. Despite what many on here think I like to debate and sometimes change my outlook based on others views. The whole holocaust thing regularly gets brought up but due to that I did much more research and now I am ashamed of the view I once had.
Fair play to you... being open to change your views in light of new information is a worthy characteristic that many people do not have.

‘The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.‘
Bertrand Russell

Anyone see Robbie Earles comments? Got to say I was oblivious that this kind of things go on. People pointing and laughing at him, crossing the street. Closely watched by security etc. Madness.

It’s massive problem the tribal boundaries that many of us have boxed ourselves into - in no small part as a result of media brainwashing, social media echo chambers and targeted advertising. We have to pick a side and inherit the outlook from our chosen tribe. Nuanced opinion don’t seem to be an option. The cognitive dissonance is blinding.
We’re divided and ruled and it isn’t by chance.

No group performs as badly in exams as white working class males. It's an attitudinal overhang thing from the times when low/no skilled jobs were plentiful. I remember from my time growing up that there were lads at my primary school who cried when they found out they'd passed the 11-plus because they couldn't go to the secondary modern with their mates. That lack of aspiration has passed down through the generations, leaving them with no qualifications.
Personally I was a bit of a dreamer at school, were being taught to go into heavy engineering, building sites or down the pits so certain subjects just seemed a waste of time. Me dad asked me how I thought I'd do in my gcses, i told him I couldn't get some of the subjects through my head and work out what they're about. Don't worry about your exams was the reply, you'll learn more in the first year at work than all your years at school. Took all the stress away in an instant. And by fuck was he right. I've been all over the world working and wouldn't change a thing. I'm 62 now so obviously times have changed, I.T, never heard of it back then obviously. In essence mate you're correct about the education but miles away on lack of aspiration, that's my experience, everyone is different though ,as was their education.

Yeah I saw that. "The Nudge" when a black man walks into a bar is just normal in Sunderland if you read the thread on here last week.

Cognitive dissonance is stressful. Wanking is blinding they used to say.

Don’t tell me this banner has actually offended people has it

Don't tell me it got you excited did it?

It's like an elephant walking in apparently. And Gilly compared it to a white man walking through a remote village in Africa.

Do white lives matter? 3 white people just got stabbed to death by a terrorist & the country/media is still more concerned about a black bloke in america being killed.

Where was the pundits & players ranting about their deaths?

Black people dying seems alot more important than white people to me.

f***ing hell. I bet you thought Hitler was just misunderstood. Yo
Not outraged by anything? The point i was making was that the left are rent a protest, save the badger, dont look at the horse, fair play on the motorway.. anything!! No i never seen that thread, but outrage, defacing monuments, attacking police and civilians is pathetic In anybody's world, bar the self righteous socialists obviously.
I suppose we should just turn a blind to black people being murdered by POLICE to save your delicate little feelings flower.

How much research have you done into the other argument? Or do you just accept this TR argument and follow, and call BLM activists 'sheep'?

Hundreds of black African Americans have been murdered by the police in America yet a few right wing snow flakes get offended and piss their knickers when black people take to the streets to demonstrate for equality.

Pissing my knickers? Demonstrate?
Let me know if you want to see more. This is my city, where our son lives and works. Where I go to socialize. Yes, I piss my knickers at nonsense like this.
Now make an argument that condones this shit behavior.
