Black Lives Matter

Which could be spun that is because black people are more likely to partake in crime due to lower aspirations and MOBO musics seeming obsession with glorifying gang culture.

With regard to the workplace I find it very hard to believe this is intentional most likely younger snowflakes perceiving older peoples ignorance as racism. I.e my Grandad who was a dyed in the wool leftist and anti racist (was involved in the civil rights movement) innocently still in the early 00s using outdated terms such as coloured or red Indian etc. It would be workplace suicide to say something overtly racist in example a lad got a warning at my work for calling a good mate who took no offence a "puff" when he couldn't lift a box of paper. I'm not from an ethnic minority so not dismissing your points just find it particularly hard to believe anywhere near that level of overt racism happens in the workplace now we are in the days of HR and PC. With regard to employment the figure seems far more believable but again it could be spun that black kids don't do as well at school and every child has a right to free education so that isn't down to lack of opportunities that black males perform so poorly compared to Asians and Whites.

On crime, I don't see how what you've mentioned explains why a black person is more likely (proportionally) to be subject to the use of force by the police, or that more black people (again, as a percentage), are stopped and searched on sight by the police.

These are independent, government commissioned reports that are producing these findings. And to clarify, these were surveys taken across the workplace as a whole, regardless of age. And even if age was a factor, I don't think you can paint being passed over for a promotion, or resigning from work due to racist bullying as 'ignorance'. It's a bit basic to say that every child has a right to free education so there isn't a lack of opportunities for black kids - it's obviously been proven that economic/home status has an impact on a kids' education and that private school/university opportunities are limited for black people.

I can see why you might not have had a personal experience of any of the above, but the North East is a bit of a bubble and isn't really representative of the UK as a whole. And the police stats/rise in hate crimes nationally is pretty indefensible to me. Appreciate you taking the time to reply to the points though 👍

Fair play to you on that response very rare on here you can have an adult debate. Respect you for that

And still idiots are banging on about white/all lives matter. They can't be that thick.

He's shitting himself now

Edit. Worra surprise. He's a racist spenk.

holy shit, he’s even more of a short arse than his wanker mate Yaxley-Lennon.

He’s like a little Burnley action man :lol:

Well first of all, you say that "I've yet to see any way any employer or public service mistreats black people in this country", and/or seem to be suggesting that racism can only be demonstrated by way of physical violence/murders of members of the opposite race, which is obviously completely untrue. But pick a category:

Police treatment:

- Black people arrested at more than 3 x the rate of white people;
- Four times more likely than average to be physically restrained, six times more likely to be hit with a firearm/restraint, and seven times more likely to be shot by the police.
- Almost TEN times more likely to be subject to a stop and search by the police.

Economic/employment treatment:

- 70% of BAME workers reporting racist treatment at work in the last 5 years.
10% less likely to be in employment than white people.
- 9% less earnings p/h then white people.
- 35% more likely to be overlooked for a job opportunity than white people.

Social treatment:

- 30% more likely to be accused of shoplifting.
- 20% more likely to be refused access to a restaurant, bar or club.

Ignoring all of the above, and assuming that only 'outright' examples of violence/hostility count as per your post, are you genuinely saying that you don't think, for example):

- that football has a racism problem (racist chanting in the premier league/globally, racist incidents on the rise at grassroots level)

- that the UK has a problem with racist violence (50,000 rise in racist hate crimes since 2013)

- that black people don't face day-to-day discrimination based on their personal experiences/interactions (they do, my black mates have told me/I've been there).

What about the above do you think is acceptable/isn't a problem because 'some black men killed a white guy in the area recently'?
You’re wasting your time reasoning with these people, they don’t want to listen to facts or see progress, they are only interested in defending white interests. They don’t get the concept that better treatment of BAME people does not mean worse treatment of them.

It'll be interesting to see how long it'll take before those who have been court up in the BLM events realise that it's all just a political game. I do really hope one day the political parties can sit down and have a real honest debate about racism - all racism, but in reality I can't ever see it happening, we will get the usual tokenistic gestures and the one-sided selective racism, and behind the smiles, handshakes and head nodding the same old prejudices will continue long until the future...

There is absolutely no proof he killed him on purpose or it had anything to do with the colour of his skin he might of done it a million times and it was always going to happen eventually
Hundreds of black African Americans have been murdered by the police in America yet a few right wing snow flakes get offended and piss their knickers when black people take to the streets to demonstrate for equality.

You seen the video of the black women slating blm she lost her 4 year old son her brother and partner at different times to black on black murders she says if a policeman asks you to get on the ground you get on the ground and do what you told and don't listen to blm

Once you are on the ground you should be handcuffed, not knelt on till you die.

did i hear correctly on the news there is going to be a police inquiry

And there we have the usual response . The poster your quoting politely explained why he disagreed and actually had me researching the things he said. That’s how you get your point across not by making wild accusations and trying to claim views are based on perceived lack of intelligence

How on earth has he pulled that total wad?! Must be some deep daddy issues there

Gay rights and feminist rally’s/protests destabilise the country? Sounds like you’re outraged by these things, something you accuse others of being in your next post. Did you see the Fathers Day/Labour thread? Outrage is not exclusive to the left.
Not outraged by anything? The point i was making was that the left are rent a protest, save the badger, dont look at the horse, fair play on the motorway.. anything!! No i never seen that thread, but outrage, defacing monuments, attacking police and civilians is pathetic In anybody's world, bar the self righteous socialists obviously.

It’s just a pointless sentence - Why exactly are you proud of these things. I’m both of those things too - I’m neither proud nor ashamed - it’s just a statement of fact.
It’s the only identity either
Once you are on the ground you should be handcuffed, not knelt on till you die.
Not said by me but a black women who I think is making the point of the police want to arrest you or question you it is better to do as they say but for some reason the black man always feels injustice and kicks up a fuss if you have nothing to hide I think it is better to do as the lady says as it's better off alive than dead by the way have a look at the Tony Timpa murder very similar to George Floyd with police actually laughing when he is laying there dead.

This type of attitude is a massive problem in my opinion.

The two chaps had a discussion where they were both polite to one another and shared their differing views. That's how progress comes about, not screaming "these people".

I’ve not read the whole thread but are you saying you were an ‘all lives matter’ poster who has entered into a debate about race and has gone away and researched counter points and statistics giving serious thought to the counter argument. If so hats off, though I would say that is a very rare occurrence and that you will be the needle in the haystack on these types of thread.

Well I would say some good points have been made which I had maybe overlooked given the fact I am not BAME and not from a disadvantaged background. Despite what many on here think I like to debate and sometimes change my outlook based on others views. The whole holocaust thing regularly gets brought up but due to that I did much more research and now I am ashamed of the view I once had.
