Maths not your strong point? Alas it is 1/63. Doesn't take much for a lost mags arsehole side to come out. Try and reason not resort to childish point scoring.

That Barcelona game wasn't the end of our regular involvement in European competition. Newcastle United played in Europe 11 out of 13 seasons from 1994/95 until 06/07.The Barca game, so often referred to on here was 22 years ago. Football has moved on enormously in 13 years so NUFC being European regulars is as relevant as a Tranmere fan harking after Wembley visits, a Hibs fan harking after 1970's European trips or a Bury fan reminiscing about going to the match. It's less than 10 years since Sunderland beat Chelsea away 3-0...ancient history and irrelevant.
Yeah I know, Villa spent money in January as a panic buy to rectify the season.Villa spent c£55m in the summer, Newcastle spent c£57m.
In my lifetime, probably not, but never? I'd not be so bold to make a prediction. The football landscape has changed plenty in my life, I'm sure it could change again. You will never be better than Liverpool or Man City its as simple as that

All in your opinion of course. They can hope for a return to it, they can realistically say that it's not beyond the club. In terms of expectations? I guess it's relevant, but it becomes less significant as time moves on. The early 90s was >25yrs ago. By comparison, Newcastle stopped being a European regular 13 yrs ago.
Because not all clubs have Leicester's finances, not all owners see it as the best way for their club to operate, not all owners have aspirations or ambitions as lofty.
Plank.
Brighton's ambitions are beyond Ashley's for Newcastle. They've pumped millions into their training facilities, their stadium, they've a more joined-up, ambitious approach to recruitment, to managerial appointments.
Watford are part of a larger footballing entity and will benefit from the relationships that that brings.

... Villa spent £2m less than we did in the Summer, I'm ignoring the money thrown at the problem in January. I'm saying that what we spent in that summer was similar to what they spent, and we won the league and they finished, what, 9th?Yeah I know, Villa spent money in January as a panic buy to rectify the season.
To be honest, i couldn't give a fuck arguing tit-for-tat over a few million quid here and there. The bottom line is NUFC have in general, been a midtable Premiership side and the ideology that Ashley only strives for 17th place has been proven as bollocks based on season finishes. There is more evidence to suggest he looks to finish 10th than 17th.
Numerous clubs have been relegated, Newcastle aren't in the minority. It seems to me that the Mag posters, including you, on here have a real inferiority complex and find the need to keep bleating away on a rivals messageboard to get across points that aren't factually true, it's really f***ing weird behaviour.
We are currently miles apart as football clubs and yet you and the rest, spend day and night on here, trying to justify their own statements. You have Mag posters averaging 30/40 times a day man, everyday. It's absolutely mental![]()
Of courseAll in your opinion of course.
Yep, but the main reason it might not go through it seems is the piracy.

He strives for survival. What position we finish doesn't mean a damned thing to him as long as it's not 18th or lower. Otherwise he'd invest some of the money received from player sales on improving the team in positions where it's weak. He'd have supported Pardew in the window after we somehow got 5th. He'd have given Benitez the tools and power to build upon the foundations Benitez had laid.
re: your line about getting across points that "aren't factually true", that's some staggering hypocrisy, right there.
Of course
Aye but if your team was a Premier League regular for 9 years, aren't you entitled to aspire for that target once more? At least for another 9 years?Totally agree! 13 years is a lifetime in football![]()
Every penny made from player sales has been reinvested.... Villa spent £2m less than we did in the Summer, I'm ignoring the money thrown at the problem in January. I'm saying that what we spent in that summer was similar to what they spent, and we won the league and they finished, what, 9th?

Of course
No. There are teams for whom survival is a given, others where it's a small concern but they're striving for greater , some yes survival is the only thing that matters and there are others where survival is a boon, but their focus is longer term.Well I mean doesn't every team strive for survival...
It's not staggering hypocrisy at all, as you have laid the money figures out yourself, you confirmed yourself, Villa spent less than you did that summer. (This was also after you spent 97 million the season before under Mclaren by the way)... Villa spent £2m less than we did in the Summer, I'm ignoring the money thrown at the problem in January. Sheer arrogance to think that survival is a given.No. There are teams for whom survival is a given, others where it's a small concern but they're striving for greater , some yes survival is the only thing that matters and there are others where survival is a boon, but their focus is longer term.
Can you provide proof of that claim?Every penny made from player sales has been reinvested.

Your main paragraph is completely your opinion, everyone has one, however the facts laid bare show that he doesn't just strive for 17th, you have finished closer to 10th than you have to 17th over the majority of the last few years.
You wank on about Benitez enough and how he's such a high calibre of manager. Who brought him in? Was Ashley lacking ambition there?
You also mentioned if his priority wasn't to just survive, he would invest some money received from player sales on improving the team. Has he not done that?
19/20 - Spent 65M, Recouped 32M
18/19 - Spent 54M, Recouped 46M
17/18 - Spent 41M, Recouped 19M
That is your seasons 'spend' since relegation, always put in more than he has received in recent years, Something doesn't add up.
Maybe that’s because you lot hadn’t been about to sell their souls to the Saudis until now. You have no clue what anyone thought of the Saudi regime before this you broth heed. Its embarrassing how many mackems are suddenly outraged at the Saudis when weren't before Newcastle became linked with them.
It's not exactly hard to find it.Can you provide proof of that claim?
Yes but luckily I'm not trying to buy a premier league club so I should go under the radar....It's a legitimate concern broadcasters pay a ton for it. But let's be honest we have all streamed the odd match
Well I mean doesn't every team strive for survival...
