Stay at home Dads

I get stick on here and in real life from some quarters for the relationship I have with our lass. Its proper old school where she looks after the upkeep of the house/cook /make baits /make breakfasts and wave us all of to work from 5:30am onwards.I do more than my fare share to say the least. We are a well oiled machine and both rolls come natural to us both with no friction at all.No-one takes the piss by lying about and everyone has a job to do in our house.

I honestly feel this day and age the lines are blurred and relationships have become lazy in every sense of the word.Facebook and mobile phones have ruined many a good woman whilst there houses are a clip and the serve up frozen pizza and chips as a “meal”.Young blokes are no better, playing on PlayStations whilst their houses drop down around their ears.
Old Skool is better and family life is more rewarding imo.
Sounds very similar to my set up.

By the way I’m not saying it’s a picnic what she does, we’ve got 3 jam eaters 3,5 and 7 and I could think of nothing worse than being stuck home looking after them 24/7, it’s just not natural for a bloke to do imo.

I also get it’s not always possible to find the right balance. I suppose it comes down to what you’re attracted to as well mind. I’m quite shallow in that looks are of far more importance than brains. The intelligence of a bird is purely incidental for me. Career women and opinionated ones just aren’t for me I’m afraid. Again though i understand everyone is different.

So you'd rather be less well off as a family just so you can call all the shots? Bit strange to me that like.
Our lass still doesn't call the shots mind just cos she earns more. That would be ridiculous.
I don’t think me and a career driven lass would work out. I understand what you’re saying in regards to family finances but I’d rather work round the clock (which I do a lot of the time) to make sure the missus has more time at home.

Blokes who say looks are not important are ugly kernts themselves believe me.

a wife should do all the things you say but I also think it’s not healthy for her to be stuck in the house all day everyday with f***ing kids.
I think they should have a bit part time job when they are little for both their own sanity and to contribute financially. When the kids get into comp and make their own way to school etc then everyone do as they please.

Our lass her little routine and works part time hospital, couldn’t be prouder of her working through all this shit that’s been going on either.

When bairns Were at school And youngest nursery she’d pop to her mates for a cuppa and natter, go get her hair done that sort of thing and she laps it up. Works out well for both of us mate.

Little bit old fashioned in that sense.

I believe women are happiest at home looking after the children and their man.

Also means I call the shots in regards to what I want to do.

I’d hate to think I was being carried by the woman.
No offence to your lass, but women who are happy to fulfil this role tend to be a bit..how shall we say?.. academically challenged. Most lasses I’ve been out with have been career-minded graduates who would have your balls for suggesting that.
The thought of dippy lasses who don’t really bother with school and work on a checkout until they can become baby factories and housewives leaves me cold.

I don’t know how many actual human women you’ve surveyed to form that opinion but...I think you’d be very surprised. We’re generally happier when you treat us like people.

I wouldn’t say our lass is dippy or thick but she has her role and she’s very comfortable with it as am I.
The only person she’s a ‘baby factory’ for is me. Be a rabbit away if she has anymore mind as I’ve had the snip 😀

You’re right there mind. I think they see themselves above housework. They’ve all had scruffy houses. Caused no end of grief in my marriage as well.

Which I do. I don’t think you’d find many complaints from Mrs Jardine.
Women are in my opinion better at raising children and being the nurturer. The man works and everyone is happy. In an ideal world of course and I fully understand that it isn’t always possible.

I always use the analogy of a kid out for walk with parents, falls over and cuts their knee. The kid will always run to their mam. That’s just life it’s not sexist and as a bloke I’m comfortable with that.
