Cummings - one rule for us...

Spot on, the most powerful man in the country couldn't have dropped off the radar for a fortnight as far as the Cabinet is concerned.

He's a control freak so there'll have been daily or even hourly conference calls, and his bollocking and bullying will have continued as usual. The government, from the Prime Minster down, are lying to us through their teeth.

That's the issue here, not whether he broke any lockdown rules.

Not really because no one has the facts. Best to wait a few days till everything has come out.

I will say i dont want him sacked. I think its hypocritical of people to say its one rule for him & one rule for the rest when many members of the public, including footballers n key workers have broke the rules n have not been sacked.

At most, people have been made to apologise or been fined. Why did the police not fine him when they spoke to him?

I am classed as a key worker and many of my work mates have done the same as he has. Would people reccomend i grass on them n push for them to be sacked?

Not my cup of tea that. I think he should of apologised though, would of helped with the massive overreaction taking place.

No 10 has seen fit to go on record and lay out the facts.

Are you saying they have lied or acted on insufficient information?

The Tories made the same mistake with Johnson that Johnson made with Cummings. Know peoples skillset and identify their weaknesses. Because someone is good at being the thinker or the face of a campaign, doesn't mean they would be good to run something very different afterwards

Many of us were very worried when Boris won an election having sacked off 90% of the sensible middle ground Tories - and brought in the swivel eyed loons to replace them ...

Now we are faced with a national health crisis like we have never known - and our worst fears are coming true day by day ..

BJ is an incompetent lazy toad - who should never have been close to the levers of power.
This was clear long ago - but the Tory heartlands wanted him anyway..

The decisions he's making right now are reinforcing the belief that he is the wrong man at the wrong time ..

To have handed so much power to a man like Cummings is just 1 example of this incompetence.

We all pay the price.

I would love to know the cross over between people who think Cummings shouldn’t resign and did nowt wrong and those who thought Byrne did nowt wrong and shouldn’t have resigned.

Who would you rather have as Home Secretary? Patel or, day, Kenneth Clarke?

Attorney general - Braverman or Dominic Grieve?

Te country has the worst government I can ever remember at the worst possible time.

The question wasn’t even to you - it was to lefty frizz, man.
Actually that maybe explains it.

Were you impressed with Johnson’s defence of Cummings yesterday and does it not undermine the science the health experts are wanting the population to follow?

I wasn't particularly impressed. If it turns out there's nothing behind the scenes that's justified the trip, he's bang to rights, as I keep saying and people keep ignoring so they can be snidey fuckers.

Probably the most sensible post on the whole thread.
Lets leave it there.

The way you lot go on is staggering. Any contortion of the argument, any faulty bit of logic, anything you can find to spin it in your way.

It’s simple. Cummings broke the law. Cummings oversaw the guidelines for lockdown. He has to go on the grounds that he has broken the laws he helped to create and in doing so brings the govt into disrepute.

According to Gavin Williamson, Boris has been assured by Cummings that he didn't do anything wrong and that's the end of it.

Unfuckingbelivable
