We appear to have finally fallen for the same trick over here with the advent of the north east working class Tory. Reel them in with nationalism and paranoia about the welfare state. Cummings, Banks, Farage et al. have played a blinder and I fear we’ll not be able to undo it now.

Sadly correct, although having Corbyn as leader didn't help, Dems have a similar problem now with Biden.

Definitely they are playing the same game. Some of the people behind the scenes are the same.

Dories spreading the fake news yesterday is a perfect example - irony being they are first to loudly dismiss any criticism as fake news.

Interesting article NYT, top journalist saying, a crate and honest reporting cannot survive the lies and untruths being put out by the propaganda networks like fox. He gave an example, " We, times and others simply report what Trump says. Then Fox lie and accuse us of fake news, remember the disinfectant story according to fox was fake news made up, the president was being sarcastic. They then hammer viewers with lies for days to counteract the true and accurate reporting of responsible journalists.

But as that journalist in WP article explains, honest responsible reporting can no longer stand up against the lies and propaganda put out by networks like Fox News, wbbhose billionaire republican owners are prepared have zero morals or humanitarian principles when it comes to politics and business.

Which is replicated by the billionaire owners of our newspapers, see the mail, sun, express, etc for examples.
