The reports 2 or 3 weeks ago said it would be 10% Amanda Staveley, 10% Reuben Bros. and 80% Saudi investment fund.

I'll still not believe any of it or get carried away until it's done and dusted. Ashley has never seemed like a willing seller.

Its going to be years and years before we’re worried about the mags on the field, so lets just concentrate on us and getting out this tin pot league, let them crack on, currently there just another premier league to me

why not? by that logic safc doesnt have any of the potential people in here say it deos..because its in the orth east.
newcastle doesnt live within its means..it owes hundreds of millions to ashley according to the last accounts..
They made a profit after tax of £18mil, that seems to suggest currently they live within their means. However I'll remember that comment when you speak about Donald and Sunderland.

Also hundreds of millions to Ashley? Exactly how much is hundreds of millions?

We couldn’t be further apart now. My god, we were so close to being one of the richest owned clubs in the world. And now it’s happened to the mags. Think I’ll sign out of this place before the biggest meltdown of all time

*except to say that if people want Donald Stewart to stay as our owner, a man who had beg borrowed and “lent” money to buy a club he openly admits he can’t afford to continue to run, you deserve the failure he has brought. We need new owners more than ever. And we need that man gone

The last known amount of debt to Ashley was £111m.
This has came from loans to the club when twice in the championship to cover loss of tv income, and also when relegated in 2009.
In 2009 the club owed the banks money, and due to the relegation, as collateral the banks took ownership of the stadium and the training ground and gave the club a mortgage. Midway through that season Ashley "cleared the debt" by paying off Barclays and giving the club an interest free loan from himself. That is why the club's debt doubled under his tenure. I think he has only took two repayments on it with it being down to £111m.

i dont know..the fund wouldnt disclose that...stavelye certainly likes people to think they are..good marketing for her..the deal could be they have 50p with her but she can use their name to attract other clients..but if its a mutual fund..it doesnt really matter how many units they own..the fund has to be run in the interest of all unit holders..
So that's even worse then kild, but unlike many other clubs Newcastle don't take up debts in transfer fees , they pay up front and try to pay cheaper by doing so, Ashley then gets the interest on the loans, I stead of spreading transfer payments over a period of time

Interest on what loans?
