Why is Ashley lending them the money to buy the club?
James Burt of the telegraph has said the Saudis will own 80% of the club
The reports 2 or 3 weeks ago said it would be 10% Amanda Staveley, 10% Reuben Bros. and 80% Saudi investment fund.
I'll still not believe any of it or get carried away until it's done and dusted. Ashley has never seemed like a willing seller.

Why can’t people just be honest. If it was our club we would be excited and over the moon. You only had to look at the madness on here when the American billionaires were meant to be buying us. Hopefully this puts more pressure on Donald to sell up.

They made a profit after tax of £18mil, that seems to suggest currently they live within their means. However I'll remember that comment when you speak about Donald and Sunderland.
Also hundreds of millions to Ashley? Exactly how much is hundreds of millions?

The last known amount of debt to Ashley was £111m.
This has came from loans to the club when twice in the championship to cover loss of tv income, and also when relegated in 2009.
In 2009 the club owed the banks money, and due to the relegation, as collateral the banks took ownership of the stadium and the training ground and gave the club a mortgage. Midway through that season Ashley "cleared the debt" by paying off Barclays and giving the club an interest free loan from himself. That is why the club's debt doubled under his tenure. I think he has only took two repayments on it with it being down to £111m.
So that's even worse then kild, but unlike many other clubs Newcastle don't take up debts in transfer fees , they pay up front and try to pay cheaper by doing so, Ashley then gets the interest on the loans, I stead of spreading transfer payments over a period of time

To be honest I'm just guessing here, thst Ashley charges the club interest, given tgat I've been told Newcastle aresnt self sufficient? Maybe you can tell me more. For some reason I always thought Mike had you running within your means
