In a weird way it may benefit us, if clubs collapse. As sad as it would be

There were many clubs teetering before this and this may be the nail in the coffin for many.

Clubs have lived beyond their means gambling on future incomes, this was also unsustainable however the coronavirus and will bring the house of credit cards tumbling down for many clubs.

Its Money driven without a doubt. Risk assessments are drawn up for everything no matter how big or small a task, event or global pandemic. The fact of the matter is that all governments will have an evaluation of say......6 weeks to 2 months of total lockdown then they must start up the economy again no matter what (this is my opinion btw), or risk global recession....as in all risk assessments there will be a balancing of safety against money and in some cases the risk of having more deaths is out weighed by the global economy starting again.......just an opinion mind

It’s money driven mate, but Government’s will be keen for sport to restart as it will help people deal with lockdowns etc. They know boredom will kick in and live sport - even behind closed doors - might just give them a few more weeks

So how are they going to keep a safe distance during the match?
And then those teams are going to travel... and meet more teams.

It still gives out completely the wrong message. If a group of mates can't kick a ball in a park together, neither should professionals.
Presumably spitting won't be allowed

Exactly. If you're still working but aren't allowed to do any of the things you like because they're closed down due to CV-19, you get pissed off pretty fast. For me, mind, it would be close to unwatchable. I no longer bother with much televised footie and the thought of Bundesliga action (where I don't really care who wins), played in a weirdly sterile atmosphere, just doesn't appeal. On the other hand, it's an approach that might save my job if it enables more sports leagues to start next season on time; work is holding up for now, and summer is always quiet, but if there's no ice hockey in the autumn I don't know if I'm going to get any pay. Since I mostly write about games in Russia that I follow on a stream, it doesn't matter all that much if there's a crowd in the arena or not. But there needs to be a game in the arena, or I'm queuing up two metres outside the food bank!

I watched 5 minutes of the psg dortmund game the other week without fans. It was f***ing tragic. Just scrap this season and be done with it

I’m the biggest football fan you can meet and miss going to our games more than anyone. I miss watching footy. Watching my sons play footy but sorry like,
Football in this country will not start again until people are allowed back to work and kids back at school.
how could whoever is in charge say “people love watching footy so let’s get them back quicker than anyone else “??? It’s insane. The premier league for instance are the last in need of getting back grafting. The country’s economy is on its knees because of a disease that we are no where near finding a cure for, never mind where the rest of the world are. The population of uk need to get back to make what they can do get everything going again but only when it’s safe.
I miss football and sport in general but it’s secondary at the minute.

I think your right. A lot of people will die for lack of a jab in the year before it arrives. Only difference with now is the health service of these countries will cope and it will be fewer numbers than now.

I’m pissed so soz if this is stupid.
but.
Say Germany start up again and finish early July and get Tha next season started on time or as near as poss and crack on, but the Dutch for example start a month later and do the same. But England and Italy start in say November for eg. How will everything else as in transfers, contracts, euro competitions club and national plan out and all the rest of the hassle pan out ? Surely everyone has to try and plan to start near the same time more or less ? Or am I being pissed and thick ?

We've got a huge loan to use first

Spent it on the lifts marra. We've not a pot to piss in.

The booze is lucid my friend. You are right: it's a f***ing nightmare. They need a collective position, allowing for reasonable flex to adapt to each countries different Covid-19 situations.

There will be a cull of games for next season imo. European knockouts may be one-leg affairs, the League Cup scrapped, international friendlies binned, no FA Cup replays. They'll want to avoid cutting league games too, but might not be that easy.

Germany seem be every arse sniffers favourite country at the moment, so it must be the correct decision.

Players tested before games? The Germans seem to have more testing kits than everyone else.
They have one of the biggest manufacturers of the tests in the world based in Germany, so as you would, you supply your own first.
