Foakes needs to be wicketkeeper for me in sub continent.
Think its between Curran and woakes for the all rounder spot unless england want to give parkinson a go and have stokes and broad as their new ball bowlers.

we have finally got a settled batting order and you pick Buttler asbatsman and moveRoot out of position at 3 where he struggles badly
the batting line up picks itself,we really need to move awayfrom ideas like this
The whole silver wood policy is solidity and consistency in a batting line up
not messing around the likes of Ali n bairstow by them having bat 3 positions in the same series

ifit’s the same pitches as last them they will pick this team or Parkinson for one of Curran or woakes
if it’s a flat pitch then obviously broad plays
just if it spins from ball one you want seamers who can bat

Hes not a better keeper than foakes and yet all signs are pointing to him being the wicket keeper...

I get what your saying, but I wouldn't have denly in when he struggles against spin.
Really think it'll be ridiculous if foakes doesnt play having travelled.
Play Jennings then. Buttler is not a specialist bat

I'd be tempted to play 3 spinners and just use Stokes as the 2nd quick. He was excellent here last time albeit he was probably used more as an impact bowler

Strong case for that, but theres no way they are dropping Buttler. I picked a team that got the best WK in the team and their personal favourite (albeit he has a good record from the last tour here)

I'm due to fly tomorrow so hoping that something more concrete comes out of the COBRA meeting. With India shutting their borders to anyone but diplomats I can't help but think that they will pressure SL into doing the same given their proximity. But I'm probably just being glass half empty because I've been looking forward to it so much.
