Weight loss 2020

I'm sure everyone thought I'd just give up and disappear. But no, I've been dilligently building up a catalogue of the foods I eat on MFP ahead of trying to use it for actual weight loss.
It really is a chew on getting things in there, but once they are, its much easier. I've just put my first "batch cooked" recipe in the system, my home made porridge. And I can see why I was getting hungry by 11am - its only 350cals per portion (that's if it comes out as 8 portions, I think it'll be more - so even less cals!)

Its also helped me to see where I was adding too many pointless calories to my huel. My Cacao Huel was over 700cals, which is almost double what the huel is on its own. So I've cut out a fair chunk of those by using stevia liquid instead of white sugar. (Fuck it). Shame I can't seem to do without the milk though - I've tried half whole milk and water, and it still doesn't taste anywhere near as nice as with just semi.

So yes, useful tool overall. Thanks for the push.

See, you don't need to be Mr Perfect to grasp it.
That’s probably about right IIRC you’re about 16-16.5st? I’m 14st10 and it looks like about 3k or Somy maintenance.
Aye I only really wanna hover at around 16-17st with body composition the main aim this year.

It's all a bit trial and error at the minute though.

Are you the guy I asked to ignore me and not reply because you clearly didn't bother reading the posts properly before replying?
If so, you've just done it again - misunderstood yet another conversation and got the wrong end of the stick again. Well done.

Ah here mate just don't bother posting on this part of the forum if you're not able to have a laugh or take advice on board. Good luck.

I can’t be arsed to google it, what’s huel? I see loads of people with it at work and the only thing they seem to have in common is they’re over weight.
I can’t imagine a meal replacement shake which is 700 calories is beneficial for people wanting to lose weight like, could have a good meal for that.
The version I have is 400cals out of the box+ whatever you add to it. My frozen berry version is 456cals. The Cacao one is a bit more though due to the milk, 737cals.

It is supposedly full of vitamins and is worked out for your macros. It is just for convenience. I wouldn't bother personally because other than my evening meal everything I eat is pretty basic and easy to prepare.
This is the point. Its not supposed to be a weight loss shake. Its supposed to be a "healthy, everything you need for a nutricious meal" powder, that you make into whatever you want.
I quite like it, and its much much better for me that being at work and having no option other than to buy something that isn't anywhere near as good for me. I get a nice shot of very good macros in a fairly filling way (yes, its really more filling than a packet sarnie or similar)

Yes, I could be "Mr f***ing Perfect" (2nd chance!!) and always have a healthy home made meal in my bag, but let's not get into that eh?

Everyone else seems to manage, funny its just you. I can take proper constructive critisism just fine. @oROSSo f***ing nailled me for my first post - but it was constructive and wasn't having a pop / being personal/nasty. I took it on the chin and used his advice.
I offered you a way out - I asked you just to ignore me, but I see you can't resist, so on the blocked list you go.

A way out? Have a word man.

Everyone was giving you constructive criticism and help and you replied with sarcastic comments as if we were telling you to do the impossible.

I've just tried to have a joke with you and you've responded in exactly the same way, as if you're being talked down to and hard done by.

Blocking me is absolutely fine mate, means I won't have to read any more poor old me posts when you can't be arsed to put work in.

Do you not snack loads if you have just a shake? Maybe it’s a mental thing for me but I feel hard done to then pick at all sorts.

Its not just carb powder with a multivitamin ground in - which I think was what the slimfast ones were (ish?).
Its basically a full meal of good stuff crushed down

Quick google gets me to this:
Oats, Pea Protein, Flaxseeds, Brown Rice Protein, Natural Vanilla Flavouring, MCT Powder (from Coconut), Sunflower Oil Powder, Micronutrient Blend,

That's what you're actually consuming - and its very filling, honestly.
.
Especially when I add 150 of frozen berries, or 25g of raw cacao (which is ~50% fibre)

Put on around 5ibs over the festive period. Hoping in the next couple of months to get back to basics to get it off. Rather than run 4-5 times a week I've joined a gym to mix it up a bit, cardio, few weights and swimming with only running maybe twice a week. Got to think of the bones now I'm mid 40s ha

Weight at the moment is 14st 11lbs

Which gym you joined?

Well I remember a fair few years ago we did a thread like this and I went from 18.7 to 14 stone.

Since then I ballooned back up to 18.13 at start of 2020 back down to 17.12 now... hoping to get down to 14 or so again.

Back then I had chance to get to the gym a lot more regularly as was at uni not in ful one work.

Find it hard with just diet alone as I enjoy the exercise and the fact it allows me to be a bit more liberal with the food intake

how important is breakfast??

I never feel the need to eat it as have no cravings so then look it as if i'm banking some calories for rest of my meals but how much of an affect will this have on my metabolism (generally)

No affect. If you can't face eating first thing then just use those calories in a meal later in the day.

The eating late at night being bad for your metabolism thing is a myth too.

I went years without eating breakfast and it made no real difference to me, I do eat it regularly now but that only started based on some meds I was taking that I’ve now come off but kept up the routine, I think it totally depends on how you feel.
