Rail UK forum is shite. Mainly full of spotters these days and I hate spotters. Ooh look there's a train that looks exactly the same as the one that passed 35 seconds ago and there's another.I used to check uk rail forum jobs and careers website. People will always post the latest jobs on there
Fuck yers, horrible lot. I’ll happily stick with my CLURB, pints, cheese and pickled onions on a stick, a bit pie...at least it’s honest. That’s what counts in this world. Not poppin bottles on some fancy simpsons monorail equivalent on the way to pop bottles...urgh, I feel dirty typing thatits klerb. the use of the K indicates the edge we have. haters gonna hate.

The golden age of train spotting is long gone mate, feel for the poor blighters these daysRail UK forum is shite. Mainly full of spotters these days and I hate spotters. Ooh look there's a train that looks exactly the same as the one that passed 35 seconds ago and there's another.
Always fancied it but no idea where to start or how to make my CV look presentable for it.

I started 10 years ago and training salary was 22k then passed out it went up to 29k straight away after 1 years training. Rises steadily after that and within 3years on full whack.Same here. Never any vacancies for trainees and whilst the headline salaries are alright, the first few years is <£19k it seems.
And there’s the problem, there’s such a huge disparity between London and everywhere else, on an island 900 miles long, its ridiculous. Think we should sink London. It’d solve an awful lot of problems
Bloody good money for shunting i guess that likeI started 10 years ago and training salary was 22k then passed out it went up to 29k straight away after 1 years training. Rises steadily after that and within 3years on full whack.
I’m going to call bollocks on that mate unless you can provide proofYes but those in London subsidise the rest of the country.

Whatever pal. I refer you to my post regarding campaigning for better pay and conditions***** trick to not tip in the us like. they work on tips, thats the culture.

So it's a depot job not a mainline one thenI will be if i get it mate..
Well aye at first til ive learned the ropes. I nar fuck all about driving trains so far..So it's a depot job not a mainline one then
That's not how it works mate. You're either a depot driver or main line one. Two completely different roles. Up here we can take trains into a yard and shunt it around and in and out of sheds (craigentinney) but depot drivers can't take them out of the depot limits. I'm not rating your chances if you don't know what you've applied forWell aye at first til ive learned the ropes. I nar fuck all about driving trains so far..
