New Music Releases Thread

You're more than welcome, nice to repay the favour. They're bloody good aren't they. How did they fare in such a big venue? Genuinely gutted to have double booked this night!

Devendra Banhart was good. Really good set list. Sound was a bit ropey though which brought it down a bit. First time at the Shepherds Bush Empire and I'll not be arsed if it's the last to be honest.
They pulled it off I think, the sound works but they are still growing. And people loved it

first time at shepherds bush? Oh mate. Its the shittiest of the shitfest venues. I don’t bother anymore

First new releases of February tomorrow. Not sure it's the best week. Anyway, new albums from Envy, Green Day, La Roux, Kisa Loeb, Makaya McCraven (a Gil Scott Heron remix album), Nada Surf, Poolside, Richard Marx, Sepultura, Shopping, Stone Temple Pilots (an acoustic album), The Cadillac Three, The Homesick, The Lone Bellow, Trixie Mattel, Alex Rex, Seth Lakeman, HMLTD (much delayed), Kat Edmondson, Isobel Campbell (delayed from last week), Arborist and Antibalas.

Supersuckers new one out tomorrow too. Supersuckers, STP and HMLTD(I remember there being a bit of hype about them a while back?) for me, plus Green Day, the GSH remixes and maybe Nada Surf if I get time.

Shopping and the Homesick for me. I will give HMLTD a shot even only because they are entertaining live

Isobel as well

They're a band you have to go and see live. They are genuinely very good. On record they are pretty poor though as I'm not sure they've got any good songs.

I'm going to see them tomorrow like at the Windmill. Got a ticket by chance.

Should be class in that venue!

Only reason I booked. Just happened to go on twitter at the same time they announced it. Can't knock it for 6 quid.

Anyone going to this Wide Awake festival in the summer? Just realised it's on a Friday which is a bit of a weird one. Line up looks a belter though real early Field Day vibes.

We'll probably have a dodge down if we don't get to Primavera.

It'll be canny Friday for Dan Carey's PRS statement

I missed the Frazey Ford album, which is also out tomorrow (digitally at least).

Bored of my current listens. Listening to 6. I know it's not what this thread is exactly for but can someone recommend something from the last 10 years I must listen to. Last years faves were little simz and Richard Dawson. Car seat headrest a good last five years pick I got from here. Cos of kids I sort of had a gap from 2011-2017 where I didn't listen to much
Just got tkts for Richard Dawson down Boro
He's different 😁

There's a new Nicolas Jaar / Against All Logic album tomorrow as well, only got announced last weekend I think.

just listened for first time. It’s decent but it lacks vocal / samples. Only one track this time features a vocal sample and it’s far and away the best track on record.

Ah that's disappointing to hear, not got round to it yet.

There's an album by Beatrice Dillon released today, never heard of her before but I've been told to listen to it by a mate. Similar to Four Tet apparently. Described as the most thrilling new artist in British Electronic music in the Guardian in one of the reviews I quickly glanced at earlier.
