Rabada is better than them all. Especially if we’re discounting a) players about to retire b) those who have done little in this seriesGreat stance on an argument - "if you don't agree with me then I won't have a discussion"![]()
Rabada is very good, but who does he replace in the England attack? Archer? Wood? Anderson?
De Kock again, very good but he's no Gilchrist. His average is only a few more than Bairstow so let's not pretend he's some sort of world beater
GErrin by the way!
Nightwatchman. idiotJesus. For a team with batting problems they have Nortje coming out at 7(!)
It was in the 19th over manWood got a wicket because the new ball moved more than the old ball would have to induce an edge, proving he should have the new ball.
Pathetic that two blokes who are in the side as bowlers have sent in a nightwatchmen.Nightwatchman. idiot
Sends the wrong message to the opposition.Pathetic that two blokes who are in the side as bowlers have sent in a nightwatchmen.
More pathetic when both Philander and Pretorius can bat as seen by their 8 FC tons and 33 half centuries
Agree. That said, beat what's in front of you and do it emphatically. If we come out of this with a 3-1 and maiden centuries for Pope and Sibley, not to mention a return for Wood then it's been an excellent seriesGreat day for England. Some things to improve which would find us out against a better side but some excellent stuff today. Chuffed for Woody.
New Zealand at home and India/Aus are the only really good sides out there to be honest.Great day for England. Some things to improve which would find us out against a better side but some excellent stuff today. Chuffed for Woody.
It was in the 19th over man
Elgar would be our best opener
Philander is retiring but has over 200
wickets @ 22
De Kock is far better than any of our keeper/batsman
Maharaj would be our best spinner
Rabada replaces anyone, he's one of the best bowlers in the world
Depends how England fare against India away, will make a difference to lose that 3-2 as oppose to 5-0.
Rabada is too expensive for me. Concedes over 5 an over which at test level is far too many.
de Cock gets in then gets out too often. Too short anarl, concedes a fair few extras.
Maharaj is a decent shout. Big Vern his past his best now and it's showing.
England giving themselves a real good chance of potentially winning the Test Championship if they beat SL and clean up at home this summer.
Yep and that’s what I think will let us down. We tend to be on the wrong side of this, ie when we are poor we lose 5-0, but when we are great, we win 3-2. See this series for instance, 2/3-1 as opposed to 4-0. We just lack that real cutting edge that India and Australia have over us at present. Think we’re improving though
Rabada is still probably the best quick in the world. Apart from Jimmy in home conditions (and Jimmy is about to retire, if we are using that stick to beat Philander) he is significantly better than any seamer we have. If we did an XI of us and them, forgetting fitness and injuries I think it’s look like:
Elgar
Sibley
who knows
Root
Stokes
Pope
De Kock
Maharaj
Rabada
Broad or Archer or Philander
Anderson
Don’t think there could be that much doubt in it tbh, pretty straight forward ain’t it?
