Now this is a nice selection....used to watch his vids a few years back but he then stopped but has restarted posting reviews.

He‘s got some cracking independent bottling among his stash

My son's stepfather in law works in Dufftown and gave us one of their samples that they get from time to time. I'm no fan of Whisky but it was amazing. I'll report back later with details.

The one I got today was the singleton 12 years which is dufftown. Nicest one I've had so far out of the 7 I've tried.

no they’re absolutely all for drinking...and all opened apart from those got for Xmas ( doing dry Jan)
Not spending or buying collectible stuff but by rotating to try different ones each weekend a bottle can last ages..bought a bottle of Port Charlotte heavily peated in March and still got a quarter or so left
I'm the same, so many different ones to try. Over time it's funny how your price range creeps up on what you're willing to spend on a bottle though. I started at £30 tops, but it's been slowly edging up once you've tried all the supermarket stuff.

some good value independent bottlings ( if you avoid Macallan etc)

I've a few from Berry Brothers & Rudd that I got on discount 'Deal of the Day' from Amazon. Really liked them, smaller distilleries mostly at cask strength, non chill-filtered. For those on a beginner's budget the Sherry Cask one is a belter. Rumoured to be a blend of Glenrothes 10 & 12. Normally around £32 but Amazon do it for £25 now and then.

Mate reccomend makers mark. Was £8 cheaper on amazon than in Asda. Comes Friday.

its not to bad as bourbons go..its got quite a sweet finish

I have a buffalo trace on the go at the minute as well as a woodford reserve..both got a lot more vanilla going on than the makers mark

This one ?

If so got it and very nice...it's the one I described as almost a Malt flavour sherry rather than a sherry flavoured malt !
Real bargain and as you say I picked it up for £25

Heartily recommend the Bimber re-char expression that was released recently. The taste belies it’s youth. Bought a cask I‘Be liked their releases that much.

Roy( Aqvavitae) and the fella from malt Box both raved about it the other week in their live tasting...

👏
Up to around 800 bottles, circa 180 open. Probably more whisky than I’ll ever drink in my lifetime but I doubt that will stop me from buying more.

Bloody hell...that must be Ralphy like in stash levels :p👏

Any long defunct distilleries in that lot ( St Magdalene/Port Ellen type stuff) ?

Hope it's well secured

I have a set of shelves in the kitchen that stores around 200 bottles. Most of the rest are haphazardly stored in region grouped boxes in the store room. I’ll add some pics when I’m home.

Fortunate to have 1 or 2 bottles from silent stills. I have most (not including about 50 Campbeltown cage bottles) organised on whiskybase here:

Nice...though only 3 current distilleries all are good.

Not often you can say I like every distillery from a Scotch region...even if there are only three ;)

Of the silent stills I’m partial to Glenugie and Littlemill. Brora, Port Ellen and Karuizawa would be on the list but I’m not prepares to pay those prices. I’ve had some fine Caperdonichs too but they seem to vary wildly in quality
