The bowling has been a bit lacklustre in fairness though. Curran aside, Anderson and Broad have maybe bowled 6 decent balls between them...….? The form of Archer continues to concern me too. Done fuckall since he knocked Steve Smith out.

Yeah...I know.
But as I say, Cricket is a numbers game in general and if you had just woke up and seen 97-4 you would think “well done England”.
I agree about Archer and have done for a while. He seems a bit flakey at times, but unplayable at other times. I have no doubts that he will become more consistent as he gets older.

De Kock seems to have Curran’s number though.

Yeah can definitely see where you are coming from, but rather have a match winner that frustrates at times than mediocre bowlers

That’s how root has used him in the last 3 tests

He’s bowled 4 over spells

It’s down to archer to bowl fast nothing more root can do

Like a stuck record with this Bairstow crack. He's averaged 20 this year (versus De Kock's 45) which is poor for one of the best batsmen in county cricket and why people are annoyed with him.
