Get this sorted Boris.
Boris Johnson 'orders shake-up of BBC licence fee'
The Prime Minister is set to decriminalise not paying the BBC licence fee.metro.co.uk
If you like the bbc it is.Worth every penny
I agree that it needs to be commercialised, but cannot agree that it's crap'.Hate paying for it ,niver fuck all on BBC except match o the day
Online content is class too.I agree that it needs to be commercialised, but cannot agree that it's crap'.
Lots of quality drama, excellent history and nature, appalling local news, biased to the south national news, brilliant arts programs though not many, some quite good comedy, same ghastly soaps as the other channels. We all have different tastes.
What is the matter with you all? It's 'licence' FFS.
Can't believe a national boycott hasn't happened yet. The BBC should have to self fund like all other UK channels
Do you get a tax refund if you don't have kids? You don't want to use a school after all.As people have said, make it a subscription channel. Encrypt it.
People should not be under any pressure to pay for something they may not want.
If people don't want to view BBC then that should be their right. They shouldn't be forced to pay a licence just because they have TV receiving equipment.
A very simple solution to do what sky.Virgin and all the rest do. Pay a fee for what you require and be subscribed, or don't and be switched off.
The trouble is it's not as simple as that, is it, because this isn't about simple TV companies. this is about a government control of it but passed off as if some private BBC owners have it like Branson does with virgin, apparently and all the rest.
Weird though how, if you don't pay your bills with the rest you get switched off. Don't pay it with the BBC and you're up at court being threatened with stuff like " this is a serious offence." I'm not kidding you.
Not sure what you're getting at.Do you get a tax refund if you don't have kids? You don't want to use a school after all.
We all fund things that we don't necessarily use. There wouldn't be a commercial case for many of the services the BBC providesNot sure what you're getting at.
They provide a lot of services. It's not just Strictly ya know. The BBC has the second largest budget of any UK-based broadcaster with an operating expenditure of £4.722 billion in 2013/14[98] compared with £6.471 billion for British Sky Broadcasting in 2013/14
Crazy that they spend nearly five billion pounds every year.
Edit:
Its more now!. Just looked at their own figures for 2018:
Level 1: BBC Group Total revenue: £4,889m
Level 2: BBC Commercial Holdings Group Total revenue: £1,542m
Level 3: BBC Studios Group Total revenue: £1,189m
That's a lot of money going through their hands.
Create quality programming and a world class news service then we'll talk.Could everyone with the "It's only £3 a week," patter please PayPal me £12 a month? I mean, it's only £3 a week...
Yes we do but this is a personal thing, not a necessity. We all fund things that we don't necessarily use. There wouldn't be a commercial case for many of the services the BBC provides
I know that. But that's a LOT of money. A lot. They provide a lot of services. It's not just Strictly ya know.
