i think he’s misread my OP and took successful to mean better.
Either way it’s lunacy.
Either way he’s wrong. I understand you like what you like but even taking my sentiments out of it I can’t see how anyone could suggest Dylan could be better or successful.

It’s hard to think of anyone who has hit the nail on the head with music in a way that the Beatles did. There’s something for everyone. 50 years on and people still love them. He might be a shadow of what he was but he’s done more for British music than 99% of artists.

if McCartney decides that for his allotted time slot, he’s going to just play his biggest, most loved and successful songs, it’ll be the best set list Glastonbury (or any other stage)
Will have witnessed.

Not sure about that because like any English successful person he is hated by 50% of the public who absolutely love to knock people who have done well for themselves. On here is a perfect example. Look at Gary Lineker or Wayne Rooney threads. Nothing but abuse of them and hardly anyone ever respects their achievements. People don’t seem to be able to just respect people for what they have achieved anymore.

The bloke is an absolute legend and never put a foot wrong.

I went there with a very open mind but what a fecking arrogant arsehole. Some good tunes doesnt change that.

I for one look forward to seeing the greatest living musician having one last hurrah on the greatest stage of them all.

Long live Paul McCartney

Can’t remember much about it mate. What was the problem?

Personally I think it does make a difference. Look at someone like James Brown. Absolute scumbag in real life but by fuck he was good. Lennon was an absolute twat but fuck me id love to see him play

Just what Glastonbury needs..he’ll have the crown eating out of the palm of his hand..a better choice than the Cure last year (who I thought were great BTW) who seemed to have 80% of the crowd bemused.

Can definitley get away with more if your body of work stands up. Look at what people tolerated from Jacko and R Kelly

Thing is say he plays the Saturday night. You’ll have had a few nights on the piss and likely seen quite a few new bands. Most wont stray down the pyramid all weekend so nip down and have a sing along with your mates to some Beatles tunes sang by Sir Paul. It’ll be a right night that man.

How much does Glastonbury actually pay the headliners? Eavis has said they can't afford Fleetwood Mac, they want too much money.

don’t think individual fees get quoted but it’s no secret they pay considerably less than the large big sponsor corporate festivals.
Fleetwood Mac are renowned for being the greediest band in the world and not budging on their fee

Was something daft like £300 a ticket for their London shows in the summer. f***ing mental.
