Lack of toilets, charging points for phones, reservation indicators dont work, shit luggsge space, dedicated large luggage lockers no instructions, directions to facilities like bogs or food bar are painted on wall

Third time of being on one tonight and been absolutely spot on, a little faster than the standard trains as well.

When I go I book via trainline, so you select you want a seat but have no guarantees of getting one. Especially if you are booking a Friday return. I've had to stand a few times for the full 4 hours. I only book first class now as they tend to always reserve you a seat.

No idea if they give you a refund on them as I've had a lass asking the bloke not to stamp her ticket as she's not had a seat and he said no, so refunds sound bullshit to me.

It's a terrible system like, should be scrapped

Get them every week, on all LNER trains they generally keep one carriage without reserved seats. They never make this public knowledge, not sure why. But always someone sitting In my seat when I get on. I get tired of the same scenario
“I’m sorry I think that’s my seat”
reply; “really....oh.....oh.....erm...really, I didn’t see the reserved sign...”.
WHY?? Did you not go to school, can you not f*cking read. Is it so hard to reserve a seat when you book a ticket, it gives you the option when you book FFS, takes seconds.

That would be so she could use the ticket again.

There are tips and tricks you can do if you don't have a seat that have been pointed out in this thread

On LNER you are entitled to a seat or you can get your money back - Our Seat Guarantee scheme

If youve booked a seat and you dont get it and the train is clear enough you can find the fella to inform him and he cant find you a different seat at any point then you can get a refund.

I usually travel down the night before and make work pay an extra nights hotel. and for travel back if you cant get a seat booked go through to KC early, check whether its listed as LNER or LNER azuma on the board, go immediately through the barriers and find either a hst or azuma in 0-5. hover around the front till they put the sign up in the window (hst) or the electric board inside is switched to the new destination (azuma) to find out which one is yours. immediately walk all the way down to the front and get onto the second to last carriages, the seats nearest the doors arent booked as they are for disabled people's assistants and they fll them up from the back forward, youve gotta be unlucky to get moved. Better to get a seat like unless youre booking last inute or whoever you are working for doesnt do seat bookings.

Even if you haven't a seat booked, and you can't find an unreserved one, just sit in one reserved to Stevenage. My experience is that most of these aren't filled; if someone does ask you to move then just find another one. It's bewildering when I see people standing in a carriage with empty seats.

Almost like an exclusive club the platform lurkers 😂. I do it even when I have a seat reservation as it's just easier sorting your shit out getting comfortable etc without the carriage being full of people doing similar.

Book direct with LNER. It gives you a specific seat and if you don't like it, you can open the seat map and move it to somewhere else.

Book directly through LNER and you'll get a seat, provided you aren't booking last minute. I've never had a problem.

You'll not get a refund as your ticket permits you to travel but doesn't say anywhere about a seat.

Simply no idea how I didn't see this post. Soz Becs.

HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM
If your reserved seat isn’t available, and the Train Guard can’t find you another seat, they will endorse your ticket and seat reservation coupon so you can make a claim. If for some reason your tickets aren’t endorsed, you should send the tickets to us with by a full explanation so we can consider your claim.
To make a claim just complete the form.

It’s not entirely their fault. Due to the electronic reservation system it’s quite possible to sit in a non reserved seat that will become reserved at some point during the journey.
