Phil Parkinson - Is he really that bad?

I don't know why people are slating the appointment, probably because it's not a well known name

Some people would rather have Phillips because he was a good player and that's the only reasoning behind it
But the whole place would have had a massive lift for at least a couple of months .
Tuesday would of been bouncing now looking at the feeling of everyone it's going to be like a morgue and just waiting for mistakes to happen to start circling on ppl .
Donald could of played this smart or dumb . Hes played the latter so the pressures on massively now from the start

Yeah I get that it could have given the place a bit of a lift however if it didn't work out, it would go straight back on the owner for employing someone with no previous managerial experience

If the aim is promotion then it's not a surprise they went with someone with more experience

Was it with better squads? Look pretty shit to me.
Tbf we have all seen the difference between league 1 and the championship

Footballs moved on now . It's a young mand game and I think you'll see a lot more younger managers being successful than the older guys

A very minor point, but this is the bloke who blanked Mourinho trying to shake his hand before the full time whistle. (when his Bradford side were humping Chelsea in the League Cup at Stamford Bridge). I remember liking his professionalism and composure.
Still, he'll be under no illusions about the task ahead of him, it's all about results.
Correction: FA Cup

In everything we are doing we are looking in the bargain basement end of the market and the ethos is how can we do something in the cheapest way...its a mindset that don is going to have to break if we are ever to get promoted...is it funny that our new manager was a free agent and no compo required!

Pathetic the way some are going on really.

Looking forward to Saturday, should be a decent atmosphere. Just get behind the manager and team and hopefully promotion at the end of the season

People will put any disappointment to one side now he has been appointed. Can't make any better of it so sit back and hope for the best.

Great record for a lower league manager in 16 years
As I said in another thread in 13 seasons as a Manager he's had 3 promotions, 2 unsuccessful play offs, 2 seasons where he's saved teams that he's taken over when they were going down, taken a 3rd tier team to a League Final and an FA Cup Q/F. Yes, he failed at Hull and Charlton but you can easily argue he's had 9 really good seasons (probably of over achievement) out of 13. We need to give the lad a chance and start and look at the positives.

I wouldn't want Marc Wilson, David Wheater, Will Buckley, Gary O'Neill, Josh Magennis or Clayton Donaldson in our squad like.
And were they Parkinson’s chosen players or player he was lumbered with

He's been promoted and then failed before. I'd have preferred someone who hadn't failed at any football league level but he's proven in this league at least he can and is capable of doing a job. Hopefully he can prove me wrong in that I think if he does actually get us up he'll be a car crash waiting to happen
Fuck me, reading some of the shite on here you would think we had reappointed Mick Buxton with Terry Butcher as his assistant

Buxton had a more favourable managerial record when we appointed him
