grumpy. Although ive read every post, this is my first post on this thread, and I would like to say that amongst all the shite, speculation, false ITKs, and lies, you shine through like a beacon.

Honesty, professional opinions and above all openness and a willingness to try and calm troubled waters.

As a supporter you are a credit to out club, but more importantly a massive credit to yourself. Well done.

You can’t have over 30,000 people going to a venue every other week and not have a safety certificate, man.

As much as I’d like our games to be played in front of an empty stadium (or not at all) there are some checks and balances in place. Utter fantasy to suggest that our stadium is not structurally sound and continue to have thousands sitting in it once a fortnight.

All I know mate was that I worked in the centre of Newcastle at the time and there was a lovely old lady who ran a petition to stop them building a new stadium on the town moor and she got a lot of support.

I gave her plenty of personal encouragement as well as many a signature on many a lunchtime.

And before the sad mags have a go at me I really care for the town moor and I would have been so upset for it to be built upon. Fingers crossed behind me back! :)

Anyway Hall went well well well well out of his way to put a spoke into SAFC's plans for the Nissan site and made dam sure Sunderland never got a penny of Millennium Fund money which built their daft bridge on which he was involved. My actions were merely poetic justice. Funny enough Hall's actions in whipping up a storm about the Nissan site probably meant Sir Bob ended up with the better option of the SOL in the city centre.

Would love to have a chat with Sir Bob regarding what went on at that time...no sunderland supporter should have any doubt what he had to face in getting the SOL built...the jordi mafia were very strong and had their influnces all the way to central government. The SOL not to mention the AOL and BOL are fantastic legacies.

Lets just hope the Dell lads need to extend the SOL sooner rather than later because that could only mean one thing and that is we are heading in the right direction!

Nobody is saying it aint safe daft lad.

However, from a number of sources there are possibly going to be significant maintenance costs in years to come. The words Im looking for is; polishing a turd.

I’m led to believe that the Structural Engineer’s, when providing the calculations for Sid James, didn’t consider just how fat you all are and as such due to the the horrific additional loads imposed on the structure, they have deemed the stadium unsafe.

When we were looking at building a stadium at Washington (near where Nissan is) they were pleading with us to ground share.

To be fair, that's exactly what you've been saying. You've mentioned a number of times SJP isn't structurally sound. By saying that, you're saying it's not safe.

Seems as tho every way we turned newcastle tried to put blocks on our future development. Reminds me of the many times SAFC tried to join the Central League, the major reserve league, and newcastle voted against us every time, even voting to eject Gateshead from the Football league.

It’s as if being the largest city in the north east and receiving the lions share of investment and assistance from central government. And having two tv stations they can call their own isn’t enough for them. Spoiled brats on a grand scale.
