Takeover Rumours

If you're reading this and expecting to find an update on the takeover, read post 1 and be patient. Little has changed since then.

To summarize: a group of American tourists turned up in Newcastle to watch a 'soccer' game. They turned up on the wrong weekend as Newcastle were playing away, so they caught the Metro down to Sunderland and went to take in a match between Sunderland and Wimbledon. They were dressed real nice, so someone outside the stadium mistook them for potential investors, introduced them to a very happy Charlie Methven at the bar, and he invited them into the VIP section where they wined, dined and waved to the crowd. They had a great day out, saw a great game of 'soccer', and flew home the next day.

Since then rumours of a takeover by businessman, investor, philanthropist, author and die-hard Sunderland fan Michael Dell and the three wise men have emerged linking Mr. Dell and his business friends to a 50 billion dollar takeover of Sunderland AFC.

It has been alleged that Dell and friends turned down the chance to buy Newcastle, but Sunderland literally got under their skin after binge watching series 1 of Netflix's Sunderland Til I Die.

A source connected to the art dealing friends of one of the three wise men confirmed that Dell and friends are determined to bring Premier League and Champions League glory to Sunderland within 5 years.

Jack Ross is almost certain to be sacked after next weekend's expected 5-2 defeat at Bolton allowing Dell and the three wise men to bring in their preferred coaching staff headed by Arsene Wenger backed up by Thierry Henry and Sam Allardyce.

Meanwhile the C.I.A. are investigating suspicious tracking of aircraft between the north-eastern states of the U.S. and Greenland. Flight LF989 was due to fly from White Plains airport to Newcastle airport on Wednesday 11 September, but mysteriously disappeared off radar near Newfoundland, Canada after failing to take off from White Plains.

In recent takeover news a source close to those involved in the takeover was bundled into the back of a car late last night and had his identity stolen. Hackers quickly moved in and created unfounded gossip to bring his name into disrepute. After being referred to V.A.R. the said source received a 9-match ban.

Further developments on this story are pending.

* Bollocks! I forgot about the monorail!!
I can neither deny nor confirm these events.

Absolute attention seeker is Riv, likes to be centre of attention and the minute people stop licking his arse and challenging some of what he says his toys are out the pram.

There’s a difference between challenging his points and calling him a liar.

I have no idea where they are (the warnings). I have read your reply to somebody much earlier in this thread where you explained where they were but by Christ can I find them

I've just had a squint at your profile page and they are definitely there.

You need to find the info line that shows profile posts and then scroll across by clicking on the right hand arrow and all will be revealed.

Confirmation later today or first thing tomorrow morning would be ideal. It would (should) get an extra few thousand on the attendance tomorrow night and the place would be buzzing.

place will surely be buzzing anyway after we smashed Accrington?

A serious question. Who is the gadgie in the centre saluting the crowd? He's not one of the three amigos. Any ideas? He seems to think he's important, so I wonder if anyone knows who he is.

Also, who is the bloke with the folded arms?

I'm not certain you've read what I said.
If there is more to what you have said than this I apologise:

"Don't think Bury is the barometer tbf"

"So we can never want better or improvement because we aren't Bury?"

"Then as I said Bury isn't the barometer of whether a football team is doing well or not".

"I'm not certain you've read what I said"

Your first was in response to a poster saying that it is "positive to have a team to support, just ask Bury fans"

I think that Bury is an excellent example of what could happen to a football club that is not financially viable and I am thankful that the current owners have us on a sound financial platform that meets SCMP. So yes I read what you said and from that, I am not really sure you understand the financial implications of failing to meet the requirements of SCMP or the need to cut our cloth to meet our circumstances.

At the very least, the club would be getting something out to calm things down a bit. The total radio silence for over a week suggests to me that one side or both felt that a bit too much was getting into the public domain too early - some of the guesses about reasons for a delay may have been a bit close to the mark (although it wouldn't be helpful to open all that up again now), and that heavy duty NDAs have been slapped on all concerned. When this is announced, they'll want all the immediate post-acquisition building blocks in place for maximum impact. In situations like this, silence is golden.

wise words, so it is still a go er then GOM/

Is this as opposed to it being announced before any other home game? It’ll happen when it happens, don’t imagine they’ll be rushing anything on account of the visit of the mighty Rotherham.

The year is 3178. Football teams now have both men an women players. Goals have been made smaller but keepers are still complaining every 4 years about the balls, especially the new ones with anti gravity technology.

Sunderland, having finished rock bottom of the conference south (we relocated there as it was cheaper to scout players in a more densely populated area and the South at the time was known to have taller, pacier players) have sections of unhappy 'bedwetters'.

A 'happy clapper', having just got in from his morning hoverboard stroll, feels perplexed. 'Perspective' reads the title of his scornful post. Remember that time Ellis got us relegated and we were going to go into administration if he didn't write all the debt off.
