The lack of red ball cricket our test players play is a joke.

Yes there’s a busy schedule etc but when was the last time we saw Stokes play a championship match for us? Buttler play for Lancashire?

Nobody* is interested in the county championship

*except the fans

Nail on head. Be good if the ECB stopped allowing opponents to get used to our conditions on county cricket before a series too.

Meanwhile the Australian lads are adapting themselves well to red ball conditions here, whether that's with practice games or some of them playing county cricket. It's a major issue which has bemused me for years. Be interesting to see how many test players are released for county duty this month. Things need to change and I don't mean introducing that silly competition next year

Not after first change. They had bowlers in reserve that still are better than overton
Overton is essentially our 6th choice
Woakes would have been the reserve
Anderson would have opened
Broad would have been in with jimmy
Archer would have been the change bowler
woakes wouldn’t be starting.
Stokes usual from the all round man
Overton wouldn’t be near he had a valiant effort with the bat though.

All their victories are tainted by the cheating. Smith, Warner etc. Played in a charity game last week & when their young Australian came in, the grief he got was funny but made me realise how deep seated the betrayal is. They've been forgiven by world cricket but the whole thing resonates right down into the grass roots. I'm not that bothered at losing the Ashes, they are not world class sportsmen, they cheated then, probably in others when they weren't caught.

A question as I don’t know the answer.

How many Aussies were in the World Cup squad so playing white ball like our lot? Surely their preparation wasn’t any better?

As already pointed out, only 2 played county cricket I think? What about the others?

And this is why smith deserved the boos he got. I mean I don’t see Lance Armstrong still getting credit. They brought something onto the pitch to change the outcome of the game.
8th choice. Stone and Wood are both ahead of Overton.
Forgot about them two. Should have had wood on the commentary. Was a laugh how bad he was on the 20/20
