No what I'm saying is don't get excited about the cup final until you get there. What I'm saying is I am not building myself up to ridiculous levels of expectation so if it doesn't happen I will be bereft ! I think there are some who will fall out of love with the club if this goes tits up as their hopes have been built up to crazy levels ! The last thing we f***ing need in this league and in our current situation is that this will be held against the current set up if nothing happens

The monorail talk is just that isnt it?neebugger believes it surely?Whatever happens with this takeover it has to be a positive thing for the club as the previous owners and now probably minority share holders nomatter what they have said in the past were struggling with the size of the financial job ans were just treading water and taking our club nowhere!.......if 50% of what has been said on here is true we are looking at a return to the premiership within the next few years and we have the three amigos to thank for that!And before anyone starts i use the three amigos as a shorthand for don charlie and jaun and i see it as a as a positive thing as i love that film.If the talk of extending the ground and redeveloping the land around the ground are true it can only be good for the city of sunderland and the club to have the biggest stadia in the north east......if only we had an airport!or one of the best coastlines in the country!
 
Amazing some of this like "don't get carried away in case it all fucks up". If anything went wrong, or if it goes through and we still end up in league one, I'd have much bigger worries than whether a few mags were digging up old message board posts tbh. If you could only get excited when something goes right and you win something then most of us would have a fairly miserable existence as a football fan.


I'm allowing myself to dream because I want to. Wasn't long ago that I posted a reply to kildaremackem saying I wouldn't really want Donald to sell to anyone who had less than about £500m worth because I didn't think they'd be able to make a huge difference. He said I must be on crack if I thought anyone with that much was possible. As such I enjoyed PMing him to remind him of it when this news broke (he didn't reply, then got banned later, oh well). Imagine spending every day dreaming of a major investor coming in and then, as soon as it looks like happening, trying to pour cold water over it for everyone else. That's really not for me.

I think you underestimate people mate, this is all just a bit of fun on a chat forum.

I doubt there's been any sign of people going crazy in the streets.

The odds on them then buying the likes Mbappe, Bale etc dropped and the daft fuckers were lapping it up in their masses. There was talk of Mourinho also wasn't there but for some he wasn't who they wanted. We've had talk and daft speculation with some mild delusions but not at the atmospheric level of delusion those thick fuckers did a few months back and times before :lol::lol:

Look after over 50 years of supporting the club I would love our luck to change and I would be delighted if this came off. Some on here are not just having a bit of fun they will be utterly fucked off if their dreams are shattered. So this whole thread is just a bit of fun ? Some will be disappointed ;)

We as Sunderland fans are naturally negative some moreso than others. Always the expectation of it going wrong, the Sunderland way as its spoken. I bet there were many waiting for the balloon to bust those 3 years under Reid instead of enjoying the occasion. Changing a mindset is difficult in itself but if you try and persist it can be done. Yes it's far from perfect at the moment but this could be something major for us and something we could only dream of. If someone had said you are going to be one of the richest clubs in the world we all would have laughed the reality may just be around the corner. Dream then believe.
 
Even if it didn’t happen in the end for some unspeakable reason, we are in good hands and have been since Donald et al took over. Can’t be any doubt they want the best for the club and the region.

It is happening though and things are really starting to look positive for this bloody club that we love.

Most of the over excitement on here has come when people see a post and read what they want to read, rather than what's actually written. So staffing issues becomes immediately equated to Ross being sacked (because that's what they want it to mean), and starts a spiral of absurdity that ends up with appointing Wenger and Henry after 60 or so pages of frenzy. Mainly because we're all stuck in wait mode (like trying to log into Ticketmaster at 8am for Checkatrade tickets and watching a circle for what feels like forever) till it's finally announced and we can deal with realities.
