How many SAFC players would you expect to live in Sunderland itself if we started getting some decent players in? How many live in Sunderland now and how many socialise with fans outside of the game? Aye they do SAFC stuff for the community now and then but couldn't they also do this regardless of where they actually live.

Plus surely we could only pay the inflated wages to a few players given the wages to revenue they'll be working within? Look at the Mags, they had to pay Owen £120,000 a week back in 2005 to come to them. If we can't pay the wages for young but decent players to come up here then will we not just end up getting journeymen looking for a final payday?

I get what your saying about his hamstring meaning he would never be the same and would never be back to what he was recovey wise. But he also seemed to not give a shit aswell.

To come out and say he couldn't wait to retire. Not like he was hanging on for his pension. Could have called it a day at any time.

Oh normally they do without doubt. I get the impression not this time though. They've been reactive to what's been said on here when tweeting stuff, and then appeared as surprised as us when the BBC claimed it wouldn't be done until next week.
