Takeover Rumours

I'll believe it when it happens. I think people are getting carried away with it to be honest, we first have to get out of this league and have a real good go at promotion for the Prem first. If we had been in the Prem already I might have felt a little different about it but we should not need billions to get out of league 1 that's for sure. Players who are worth a few million in the Prem have gone up to around £20m-£30m will they be prepared to throw around £100m in when we get there? Because we will need a whole new team again by then.
Should have named yourself Mr Obvious.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Contrary to what Sky Sports are reporting, this is not an MSD Capital takeover. Easy to get confused in it all, but the group of MSD partners involved are doing this off their own back rather than through the firm they represent.

Oh I hope they come and the new investment works out but I won't be getting carried away with it. The same people keep making the same mistakes on here, taking things for granted thinking the empty space on the cheque book is going to say £200m for the season. I've been down that road before false hope, I will believe it when I see it mate. Think it's even harder to stay in the Prem these days but hopefully we get promotion this season and have a good go next season for the Prem.
Good job there’s only the handful of idiots then isn’t it?

this may actuaky be better for us..because if they do it via h efund..then there is c;linet capital at stake..and that is regualted etc..doing it as individuals with their cash..not client cash..means they can be much more long term and flexible..

That simply means it's a personal investment by the individuals, outside the main investment structure. It would probably mean they'll set up a US-based LLP between the four of them which will be the actual investment vehicle, and that funds will come from them via that into the club. I'd also expect them to buy a stake in Sunderland Limited, rather than Madrox. It possibly gives them more flexibility than putting the club into the structure of a larger investment group, particularly, perhaps, if there are defined RoC rules within MSD itself; any return from Sunderland is likely to be a slow burner, although the potential upside is huge. Any benefits are more likely to be for them than us directly.
Maybe theyjust fancy some fun?

People said the same about Ellis Short coming in, gerrin get the cheque book out, look what happened there. Money doesn't solve everything I'm afraid. I hope it goes well and we reach the Prem to sustain top half of the table but I will believe it when I see it and not before.
Your making out that the Short years were a total failure, he led us to 10 consecutive seasons in the PL. We hadn't had a longer stint in the English top league since the 50's.
