Your making out that the Short years were a total failure, he led us to 10 consecutive seasons in the PL. We hadn't had a longer stint in the English top league since the 50's.

This. If we can do it without nearly bankrupting ourselves and have the odd crack at a cup then everyone would be more than happy. I was one of his biggest critics towards the end, due to the knackers he employed but, if lessons have been learned then, happy days.

After scooting around and finding out what I can it looks like 3 of the four will be on the board with Dell as a hands off investor while SD and CM would stay on as minority shareholders but handle the day to day running of the club. Personally I'd prefer it if were being officially taken over by MSD itself as I think that offers more security and I'm not sure why it's going to be external from that. That being said 3 of the four are all billionaires within their own right so I guess you can't get much more secure anyway

Your point is not valid in the slightest. These are financial investors not people who run football clubs. They want a long term return. It will be part of any deal that the current incumbents stay for at least a fixed period, in order that they have some meat in the sandwich and more importantly that they deliver against what their new partners have invested. What this does is give us increased financial bargaining power in terms of obtaining credit and guaranteeing financial payments.

If this comes off, it will be an absolute master stroke. Charlie and Stewart will be in demand for every “financially constrained” football club around. This will be some turnaround and if brought to resolution those two deserve to reap all the rewards that will be on the table. I hope that Ellis gets some return through this as he really has assisted in this respect, regardless of the complete mess at that we found ourselves in.
