He more or less said in the latest podcast that we were running at a loss but expects to break even soon and be profitable within 2-3 years. That’s different to what has been said in previous podcasts
it isnt different..its about the operating costs, which are at a loss, and the net profit/loss of the business..which is influenced by temporatry and one off factors..

and of course that changes regualrly..whatever their forecasts..i hope the forecast that one of oviedo or catts would be staying, so if they leave its a bous and not a relief..

Does my head in this negativity. If he’d been proven to lie to the fans or hold things back, fine. But he’s so open, transparent, answers literally any question we have on a regular basis. Beggars belief. Should need to take a test before you can post online.

This is incorrect though.
Remember before the play off final when there was some brilliant news within a month?

There is no need for the owner especially Methvan to go on like this.
They own the club, they don’t have to make promises especially the ones that are ill thought out (100 points for example) and attempt to hide the fact that they are ONLY here to make a fromfit and will take the money they make out of our club and pile it into another club in the future.

Fair play, it’s theirs and they can do how they please, but please, the fans go on like they are some saviours. They aren’t. Like it or not short played the important role not canon and ball.

i dont tthink they are only here to make a profit..they have done ttoo many things differently to what someone who only wants a profit would do..mostly turning away people offering them a profit. OF course personal gain is their main motive, it is for every club owner in the country.
i dont think they will put it into another club..i think they will ever have the money to get a bigger club than safc..and why bother with a smaller one?

This is happening, a few who saw Donald reckon he was grinning like a Cheshire cat yesterday - and considering how that has not been the case in recent weeks. I think he has done what he was tasked to do in 1 year ie make the club lean and investment worthy with a team that can battle for promotion - the US market could be great for us - every Yank soccer fan knows us - cult club.
[/QUI would be grinning too if i was getting a share of x millions.

That wasn't a promise if i recall correctly, it was a target.

They can not afford Sunderland.
Next year to even compete we are looking at 50 million. Look at how much Leeds hVe spent.

They may have turned away a profit but that what THEY have told you. They know the value of the club and the potential.
They seen an opportunity with us, the potential and also they know their selling price.

I don’t blame them but I just wish the people of Sunderland wouldn’t be so gullible into believing a word.

I have criticised them. I don’t really like them but they have stabilised the club.
They are TOO information sharing.

We will see what happens in the future, but the long term prospect isn’t us.

Probably right. Even still it was a terrible remark to put pressure on the manager.
All of them have said that the demands of the fans are high and then they put a 100 point target up. Lose four points in two game what happens?

they have said they will have more on board next year...to help with the funding..iys not just them that told us thery had offers..lots of journos have as well..

i think they could afford one season o having a real go in the champo..but that wold be stupid..because if it fails, and we dotn go up.,.the club would be bust..thats why bringin others in to work with them makes sense.

£50m next year? we cant lose that much..the fa rules wont let us..have you noticed spending is much lower in the champo this year? thats because clubs are being stopped from spenidng by the rules..

clubs no longer set their own wage bill...the league set it.

derby have pulled a strole with their ground..unfortuantely thats not an option for safc..since it was built..safc's ground has always been owned by seperate cmpany to the company that owns the football club, from an accounting point ofn view.

I disagree.

- We have complained about the lack of transparency. They have been open and informative. I think they've been like a breath of fresh air.

- We should set the target very high. I'm sick of the club and even some fans delivering/accepting the bare minimum. If the manager can't deliver, he should find a smaller, less ambitious club.

Confusing this mate.
Firstly I don’t think they have been as transparent as what they are letting you believe. We complained prior as there was no communication at all from the owner or the club. Even then though we ran on hope and dreams just like today.
It’s a disgrace we are in this league. This isn’t a “ohh look at us” statement. Look at the ground against bury, accrington, Rochdale etc.

I’ll give you an example of them not being transparent.
Our top scorer was let go and we paid a lot of money to get a replacement. If we kept him we’d of gone up.
How many pod casts, drunken chats with Ronald macdonal, or statements made?
Not as many as we wanted. Don’t think anyone knows the true story, blame the agent. It’s fair game.

I agree about the manager. The first mistake of the season was not to sack him. They got it wrong. Regardless of what happens this season, he should have delivered one Wembley win out of the two.

That part unfortunately is pure speculation. Didn't he pick up an injury at Bordeaux that kept him out for the rest of the season? It could just as easily have happened here.

- On Maja, the situation quite obviously wasn't black and white. Donald has recently said he could have perhaps opened negotitions sooner, which is easy to say in hindsight. Few, if any, will have expected Maja to have done as well as he did do. We were all disappointed to lose Maja, but had he stayed, it still wouldn't have made promotion a certainty. They've made a blunder signing Grigg, but it was Ross that wanted him in the first place, they've simply brought in someone the manager has highlighted as Maja's replacement. Is that Donald's fault? Far from it, he should be commended imo.

- Whilst I'm not convinced by Ross, I can understand why they've shown him loyalty. They see and experience things behind the scenes that we don't. Our start has just been about acceptable. Had we beaten Oxford, performances aside, I think we'd all be content, but it was the first game and they can often be tough to call. Ross has bought more time after our win yesterday. I hope he gets it right, but if we're dicking about in an average position after say 10 games, I expect he'll be replaced. Fingers crossed it doesn't come to that and we crack on.

This is too.
Could have happened here but he wouldn’t have got the same injury?
My point is that no way should he have been sold at that time.
If he fucked off at the end of the season so be it.

The sale was purely money which in reality would have devalued the club.
False economy.

I guess we'll differ on this subject then.

If Maja's head had been turned as reported than there's no guarantee he would have performed to the same standard in which case the club were better off getting something for him while he was a saleable asset.

There was no way of knowing at the beginning of the season how he'd perform and if reports are to be believed then by the time the club offered him a new contract (which was what he was asking for) his agent had gotten into his ear.

How much did Sheff Utd spend to compete. How much have Norwich spent, including since going into the Prem. 50m, bullshit.

Calling fans gullible when you are clueless. Ok mate
