People might have been hysterical fannies but if my daughter was ever kidnapped i would like to think the hysterical fannies were sharing fuck out of it and creating as much awareness as possible. The person who made the hoax call wants locking up and griefed not the people trying to help.

If your 7 year old had been kidnapped you’d have noticed and made an official report to the police though , it was constantly being stressed that NP had not received a report of a child missing just this sighting. There was a slim chance parents hadn’t noticed their very young child was missing between 7 ish and midnight late on a Saturday night I suppose.

Glad Facebook wasn't around when I was a bairn. I was forever wandering over the beach, or the rec, or down to the shop despite having been told not to go beyond the end of the street. Or coming home later than I was meant to. My Dad would cone looking for me, give me a clout round the lughole when he found me, then drag me into the car to take me home.

I'd probably have been reported kidnapped every week!

It was on a legitimate missing persons page, if there was the slightest chance a kid had been abducted I saw no harm in sharing that post so wind your neck in.

The thing is fella my mate went missing when I was about 6/7, me and my bro had been playing with her on the back hills - we came in for tea and she didn't go home. A full scale search was conducted, the police even came to our door to question us (as we'd been the last ones to see her) and since we were in bed my dad said no.
It transpired she'd wandered off over to her dads in Albany (without telling anyone), thankfully a happy ending to a scary story.
