Car Brake Fluid

She just rang to complain and given her more of the same. Any tips on where to go with this? She's got it booked in to an independent place for them to have a check already.
If the car is brand new and they’re saying it needs a seconds brake fluid change ask to speak to the dealer principle or service manager immediately.

Call the manufacturers customer care line now too.

What kind of car?

A Ford. Focus, maybe?

How often should it be changed? A lass I know had it done five weeks ago and her car is now saying it needs doing again. The people at the service place say five weeks is a long time yet everything I can find online says it should be done between every two to four years. I'm obviously no expert but I take it she's being conned to bits?
Depends on the service information for the, two to four years, not five weekd, they are taking the mickey. The fluid absorbs moisture which can be dangerous which is why you change it.

Just found out she's only had the car 11 weeks and this would be the second time they've recommended it to her. Obviously taking the piss.
It should have been done, if it needed doing , when she bought the car... What make is it?

every 2-3 years is fords recommendations, mileage dependent.

Need to put his angry face on.
I wouldn't go to them, it wouldn't have much of an impact with their tiny readership these days, would it? That said, it's not right that they should be allowed to get away with shenanigans like this, is it?

So she's spoke to the manager who still claims it could be her driving style that's causing this but what type of driver would you need to be to require a change in brake fluid twice within eleven weeks of buying a new car? They're taking it in to have a look but they seem adamant not to honour her warranty.

I’m seriously confused by this.

I’m a mechanic by trade and have never known a driving style affect the brake fluid, ever.

You sure she’s got the story right?

If she’s fit tell her she can text me for advice. If not don’t bother. ;)

I'll happily change the brake fluid on my MTB but not the car. Risk of getting it wrong might be low but the consequences could be huge.
Bleed nipples are notorious for snapping.

She's taken it to an independent garage and the bloke is apparently furious and says they are taking the piss. I've told her to get everything he says in writing for when she goes down to see them at Evans. They've definitely said it could be down to driving style - she's confirmed that's what they're saying on three separate occasions.
