You mentioned all those things in England’s favour but there are just as many in NZ’s favour - the great catches, the excellent spell from De Grandhomme, the death bowling from Ferguson, etc - hence why the game ended up tied.

The main one surely is that they lost less wickets. Under the rules before the super over, we lose and they win.

Loads of times when I thought we had it and then we didnt. That's why i love cricket


The 2 worse parts for me were the wide giving them 7 balls in the super over and then archer going for 6. Thought it was done.

Yep, agree with that. Stokes mentioned it on interview too. With everything that happened in the game, that’s possibly the only truly logical explanation. It was our time.

It was y’knar. There was also a bouncer late on in our innings which didn’t get given a wide - yet Archer was called in their innings at the death for a very similar looking delivery.

Those are the fine margins, but perhaps when all is said and done, if the wides were called correctly in 50 overs we’d have got home without the need for a super over.

He is absolved from all criticism because he brought The Ashes home AND he deliberately wound up Ricky Ponting by continuing to use sub fielders when he knew it was pissing him off

I still like him, just don’t think his dress sense is anything to write home about.
 
I've never really been into cricket, but I'd say today was definately one of the most exciting sporting events I've ever seen
If I'd seen that at an earlier age I'd think I'd want to be a cricketer rather than a footballer

Cricket to me was drawing after 5 days (even though 1 side has loads more runs than the other?) or winning by 100 runs or 5 wickets

That today was f***ing mental
