Takeover in trouble

This takeover was the one thing that was keeping me positive after the absolute catastrophe of last season.

I have no trust in the current lot to make the right decisions in terms of contracts, bids and recruitment in order to get us up.

Still desperately clinging to some good news on this.

Fingers crossed I may have an update regarding potential investment tomorrow.

Very early stages though.
Juan is back from Uruguay and brings with him a bag of goodies. What is the Uruguayan equivalent of a half-chewed Mars bar?

I’m amazed more people don’t see their evasiveness when answering questions

I know, its why I just don't get people lapping up every word

They know nothing about them, yet every word was treated like gospel even though they havebeen ridiculously vague

Its almost like some fans just wanted anyone but Short and Bain so accept anything they say

I have more a problem with that than the owners as it just shows some fans never learn

Its been cultish the support by some on here, never experienced anythinglike it before at SAFC, not even by SNQ

I completely disagree about the young players. Unless we have a 18y/o Messi on our hands then we should not develop them if they won't commit to us. At the moment is set up so lower league clubs get rinsed when they have a decent academy set up because kids can walk away with zero/barely any compo.

What SD proposed was completely reasonable. The Maja situation would not have unfolded of that policy was in place two years ago.

Its really not, its a ridiculous policy aimed at generating funds in the short term, which is all he seems interested in

:lol::lol:
You’ve bumped a few of my older posts on threads that you’ve already contributed to (many times) since the posts were made. Honestly it’s fine though, I’m flattered.

I really havent, I highlighted a poor post when I was reading this thread, and looks like people agreed with me

you took it back judging by a recent post, so no harm done

Ignore me for a second, ignore my views and my posting style, you need to stop writing off anyone else who questions the owners, there are legitimate concerns about whats going on, I don't how you can't see that, any SAFC who doesn't have concerns is just burying their head in the sand IMO. You have a lot of trust in a couple of blokes that in reality you know nothing about,

Season after season of crash and burn. Even when we survived relegations, the team and manager were shredded without any forward thinking.
The inevitable result was over-paying a bunch of mercenaries who didn't care enough and a team on rapid decline to 3rd rate. So yes, anything but Short (and Bain)

This just proves my point, I think you don't even realise it.

You've just showed thats the attitude that people accept anything these blokes say as gospel, because they aint Short

I have nothing against the owners and base that on my own observations of them. Some on here have been against them from the start, some even using thinly veiled sly little digs. It’s a bit like the SMB version of “some of my best friends are gay/black/both”
Now that isn’t to say I am right, but at least I was willing to give them a chance. That said, there are worrying signs developing at this moment in time, again though I won’t jump to ludicrous conclusions that I have been lied to or misled, until confirmed otherwise.

So when you say very early stages, does that suggest it is a different lot
I will therefore assume due to the 2 likes, that my guess is along the right lines

I’m still confused as to why Sartori is here and what he brings to the table.
I'm not convinced that it is anything other than a bit of 'fun' for him. Get involved in a football club on the cheap. Maybe make a small but quick profit on it. Think he'll have known he was going to enter politics and try for the presidency from the minute that he got involved here.

Yes a different lot.

Donald reached out to them yesterday.

That’s literally everything I know so far.

Good to see the season planning is going well! Not like season starts in a month or out!

If all this is true, I don't like the fact someone bought a football club when they couldn't afford to

So i take it that means it will drag on well into our pre season and possible the start of the season. Would hope everything could have been settled before the players reported back.

But didnt he say, in response to the media reveal that investment last week had fallen through, that it wasnt needed "short term" and it was only ever a "long term" necessity??

They have definitely been misleading particularly around the parachute payments. Not sure if that’s deliberate or just a communication issue.

That’s interesting, seems to go against his previous assertions that he had people queuing up, was turning people away and didn’t need investment.

If I’m honest mate, I never understand that finance stuff, so didn’t pretend to. It got to the stage whereby I was skipping hundreds of posts contradicting each other

That part of your point is entirely valid. There are reasons for "anything but Short".
The amazing thing is how incredibly quickly SD brought the uncontrolled juggernaut to a halt.
It will take time and careful evaluation to get the bugger roadworthy and travelling back in the right direction.
It doesn't need another nutter to take to the wheel and slam the foot to the floor regardless.

I get what’s in it for him kind of, he is rich and wants a bit of involvement. Just not sure what’s in it for us.

Nice analogy mate
