Takeover in trouble

Cant remember the Dortmund model being promised???

Theyve been here a year man.. you expected a whole new system to be implemented in that time!?!

TBH it was Donald and Methven that mentioned the Dortmund model in one of their first interviews with RR. It wasn't promised but they did but the seed of the idea into people's heads by mentioning it in the first place.

All the big hitters on this thread like.

Probably all sitting in the same room having a group wank.

But they shouldn't need investment or to sell now as we are still in League One with £19m or whatever of parachute payments incoming and us already pretty close to an even keel in profit/loss terms.

And all this fannying around is just getting in the way of the stable build up over Summer we were all looking forward to for once.

But odd saying you supported them but them liking a post calling them stumpy and slimey Let’s just say it didn’t help your stance...

The more I hear the less faith I have in them basically.
It wasn’t the name calling I was liking. I’m still very grateful for what they’ve done and hope they continue to do well for us.

Edit*
I’ve actually unliked it as I read it wrongly through beer goggles last night.

There’s a bright lad giving Donald shit on that thread too:

‘you don't have a clue at times either unfortunately, don't be angry because some people don't immediately fall in line with the PR you push. Maybe prove doubters wrong with good decisions at the club, not being snide on twitter. Not being able to accept scepticalism is worrying’

Any idea what ‘scepticalism’ is?

Scepticalism: Noun - The belief that festers inside some people that all football club owners are chancers out to make a buck. Persons exhibiting these traits believe that they have the rightto dictate how a club is run with someone else's money.
Surveys have shown that this trait is often found upon the banks of the Tyne.

53m takeover being haggled, hardly big bucks in the world of football.

But i do remember Donald saying he would have small stake in club as he feels its in his blood now, so takeover it is, not investment.

But are Donald, Meth, Sartori gonna make bucks out of it, hope not.
OI imagine they will, they're not here to do you guys a favour are they

Well Donald and Methven have been telling us for the last few weeks that we are now in one of the best financial positions of any club in the football league. That we are going to be turning a profit in the very near future etc. Now have you been right all along about our financial situation which would mean they are they telling lies or are they telling the truth that we are financially sound and in a good position which would make you completely wrong?
It looks like there is a lot of back pedaling for comfort going on with the owners at the moment. My reasoning for thinking this way is that they owners were going to sit down the week after the play off final with the manager to see what had went wrong. At that time they backed the manager 100% ,irc, and stated what they were going to do to put it right with a 100 point target for this coming season. That was on the 26th May.

Now I may be wrong but it was the owners, no one other, who have been making positive comments regarding the healthy position of the club, another significant transfer budget, new investment from various parties and that players were lined up to come to the club . As the closed season is significantly shorter these days it would seem sensible ,in order to catch the players that we all know are needed to make a successful challenge this season, that targets should have been identified and signings completed as a matter of haste.....Other clubs have signed up 5 ,6 or 7 players while we seem to have twiddle our thumbs.

It could be the case that the club did not want to pay wages to player that signed early (who could possibly think that) a prudent look from those wasteful years of tossing money away and may have missed one or possibly two. Now we find next season is less than five weeks away and I can foresee that another few Will Grigg (overpaying) situations coming to pass although I hope i'm completely wrong. The names flowing through these message boards like Remie Streete are just figboxes of the imagination and that we have six decent players signed up already....Yes, I do dream occasionally.

Today we see the owners pulling back from the media streams that were used to give news directly. It was only a matter of time.

So why would we not be a good investment? A club making an operational profit that is debt free with 23k season ticket holders in the third division, a 49k seat stadium and an academy, neither of which need any kind of redevelopment. If Donald and Methven have actually got us on a footing where we are one of the soundest clubs in the country financially, surely we’d be just about one of the best investments available in English football given how relatively cheap we’d be to buy into?

Or is the financial situation not quite as rosy as it has painted to be?
the challenge is..every club that to the championship play offss this season lost at least £20m and of course three of them didnt get promoted..so apart from whatever it wi

have the pther cubs signed players that leave then overall better off?
i am getting anxious about signings..but not yet.
People made up stuff about a takeover.
The club is in a healthy financial positon..but as a business i hasnt made a profit ina decade-will have to incur huge losses before it can achieve potential, which is premier legaue, and the last time we were in the premier league we didnt make a profit..
so as a buisness its a horrible one.
I mean newcastle is a worse investment, and so are many champinship clubs..but safc is not a good investment.

Charlie spoke of the Dortmund model and later revealed he didn't mean we would implement any of the things that made them successful.

He also said we were going to be aggressive at “poaching” from other academies...

They did, use our cat 1 status to bully others. To be fair to Stuart, it was Charlie who said both things. I don't think he, in particular, should have anything to say about football.

Funnily enough, hearing him speak about marketing and analytics in that area, he is the first one I've heard that appears to be sufficiently informed in his field.

and whose to say we arent? i doubt we are small time enough to announce we have signed fourteen years olds from stevenage or whatever it is.

charlie has worked in those sorts of roles at two of the top clubs in the UK..of course he knows about them-he is proven at the very top level in that regard.
