Tough one to call this if a large proportion of the fans follow though with the ‘he goes we go’ outlook then this could be interesting, the team have always had the mags fans backing under Benitez....not having that could have a massive impact and they could implode.

Alternatively Ashley could just as well get things together and actually invest......maybe he just f***ing hated Benitez?

I reckon that whoever comes in there will be a proportion of the fans secretly wanting them to fail to prove a point to Ashley that they should have kept Rafa.

Their blind idol worship of the FSW would be an embarrassment if they got a no-name manager who did well with them.

If I were a multi billionaire new owner I’d probably want Rafa in charge in the immediate term. Realistically who could they get who is better? (Not a dig at them btw, more praise toward Benitez).

Who would they go for? Mourinho isn’t the right man for them and he’d end up with a very bitter relationship with the fans.

Tempt Bielsa away from Leeds?

Not sure I would. It's rare to find a manager who is as universally loved as he is at Newcastle. The fans will side with him on just about anything. If you get rid of him or piss him off, the fans will turn on you. That's what happened with Ashley and Keegan.

It's exceeding all expectations mate
Isn't it just?
Sure I read they're meeting at the SBR statue to protest at 6ish.
So they're going to go berserk with a bloke that's likely not even in the country let alone at the ground, because he wouldn't give a bloke millions of pounds a year salary, and spend hundreds of millions of his money to not even guarantee success?

The fans turned on Ashley, after Keegan... but hes still there and so are the fans...

Water off a ducks back to him.

At the end of the day, Benitez is an employee who's contract had run out. He was offered a new one, and didnt take it.

That is not Ashley's fault entirely.

Newcastle fans seem to think Mike Ashley should have paid whatever it took to keep him at the club and that is just terrible business.
