Jordan Henderson

I really don't want to stop this Henderson Appreciation Society as it is lovely and please keep it going but one thing I want to bring to your attention.

He plays for LIVERPOOL. He does not represent Sunderland anymore. Neither the club nor the city. That now is only where he just happened to be born in. That is where it begins and ends for me. Everything else about Jordan is Liverpool.

Sometimes I think Sunderland fans put too much emphasis on the fact a player was born in the city. Why?

You really need to get a life!

Do you also believe that the people of Liverpool put too much emphasis on the fact that The Beatles were born in their city and they still appreciate them despite the fact they all moved on to live and work outside of Liverpool.

Inclined to agree to an extent. SAFC won’t have been on his mind last Sunday. It’s a good accolade for the city ofcourse but judging by social media a lot are going way OTT. Milner was brought through Leeds youth system but I bet none of them are going on like a lot of our lot are over over Henderson. For example.,
I don’t think you can put Milner in the same context to be honest - Jordan captained his club to the biggest prize in club football which puts him in a very elite band of players

The fact that he was born in, played for and still visibly supports Sunderland makes him very much one of our own, and I for one am delighted for him and immensely proud that one of our boys has done something that the rest of us could not even begin to dream of

Good for the lad but by god, that was a turgid game!

For the neutral aye. Liverpool will think it was great. Early lead, restricted the opposition then finished them off.

Both teams looked so lethargic, suppose it could be down to a long season and the heat. I also think the gap between the last league game and last night was a telling factor.

Mane and the two full backs looked like they were on it but in general I agree.

Brother in law hails from a bin dipping family and he thought, in his words, “that was f*cking gash, at least we won”

Leeds have also been to 5 European finals themselves, and were close to being back in the premiership this year.

We’ve played 4 European games in our history and won’t be back in the top flight for years. Understandable that they’d feel that celebrating Milner winning something was beneath them in that context, but our fans need to take whatever we can get atm.

Absolutely chuffed to bits for Jordan Henderson..went to liverpool as a young lad and developed into an absolute world class footballer and person a true team player,
he's had stick off fan boys who are clueless about football but he's been captain for liverpool and England and finally got silverware......love it
