It's seemingly all us and the mags have to sing about.

I'm 26 and don't get it. Shame we haven't sold out but doesn't matter. I'm not a ST holder anymore but the 26,000 for Pompey at home was louder than most of our time in the premier League. That's what I'd prefer every game.

We had way less than Liverpool back in the day. They got more tickets plus they got a lot more of the tickets not available to fans buying from their respective clubs. The sort you get courtasy of Chelsea or Notts County or from newspapers and the like that result in both clubs only getting 40000 tickets to share in a 90000 capacity stadium

It all stems from those ***** up the road, they’re obsessed with them and it’s filtered to us as the only bragging rights the two clubs have...not trophies, but how many we each get through the doors or take on away days. North East football is embarrassing in that respect.
 
I just didn't have any money left after Wembley and a few other things this month and there will be plenty of others in the same boat, we don't have millions of plastics willing to take our seats like Man United do, we are proper football fans in a working class city which is one of the furthest distances from Wembley.

Consecutive pay packets for most, considering the dates of each game. Know my family for instance get paid last Thursday of the month, so end of March pay for CAT and end of April’s pay for this one, with a season ticket payment thrown in there to boot

I can't go tomorrow, not because I spent too much going last time but because I simply have no f***ing money. Car insurance, season ticket payment, parents golden wedding anniversary, mountain bike trip at the start of next month and a few other things this month have left me skint. If it was next weekend after I get paid it might've been a different story. I've rarely missed a home game in around 34/35 years so have probably seen more Sunderland games in my lifetime than fuckers like you moaning about me not going to this one game

We got 18k, they got 26k, capacity was 80k back then, ended up in their end

There was a link to a thread one of their boards on here earlier on the week and one of their posters mentioned getting tickets for his mates who all supported different clubs. I actually like Charlton mind, decent club and their fans have been through some shite since they were in the PL.

This, and don't forget they are very near Peckham - there will be many households with 5 or 10 spare tickets, and someone saying "This time next year Rodney..."

Regardless of numbers, we will have more presence in the stadium

I’ve got no beef with Charlton or their attendances at home or at Wembley. They are a club of a certain size in a crowded market. It’s just stupid to read anything into their seemingly superior attendance to the final. There is nothing to interpret. We are a far bigger club. It is what it is.
 
Let's all move on from the crowd issue now, it is what it is. 35000 is still a good effort, bit disappointed there will be some empty seats but not the end of the world.

Anyway, for the record, lot more Liverpool fans than SAFC in 1992 final - obviously they did receive a bigger allocation.

You probably did,'t talk to many then. We have an owner that has alienated the fan base. I bought 7 tickets and I'm the only one still attending regular although I have done more aways than homes. 4 of the 7 were season ticket holders 3 years ago and the other 3 are sons and they don't support another team. There will be a few day trippers but the vast majority will be Charlton fans a lot of whom have been fed up the way the club has been run the last few years
