That's a bit surprising in some ways, but the football has been turgid, and we've got worse recently. One of the reasons I'm not bothering with the 640 mile round trip. That and I've got a lot of spend on other things this month, so relatively skint.
Compared to the recent years of struggle I think this season hasn't been bad at all..

I suppose they could announce the potential Wembley allocation process early in the morning. Phase 1 - ST Holders with a Semi Final Ticket, Phase 2 - Anyone with a SF ticket or ST, Phase 3 - Anyone with a purchase history.

You'd risk some going in a proper huff, but they seem to have done that anyway.

One trouble is I don't think they can really do that, if we get to the final I'll be surprised if we completely sell out so I don't think there's a massive incentive in being in one of the first two phases, I imagine anyone with a purchase history from this season would get in anyway - even for the checkatrade the vast majority ended up sorted and I think there'd be a few less there this time

I'm not sure. Our fans love a Wembley booze-up and I think if we win the SF (especially if we win convincingly) that would be enough to get the excitement back.

If I wasn't going but planned on getting a ticket for the final the idea that i might be behind 28k ST holders, plus however many buy tickets for the weekend might make me think twice.

With hindsight, the club should have incentivised this game, by saying that attendance would put you in with a better chance of a Wembley ticket.

wasn't keen at first because there'll be folk who genuinely can't go to the semi final who shouldn't be penalised for missing 1 game but if we have actually only sold 22,000 then bollocks to it. I'm all for it.

Just about 22k now. With aways and corp, it’ll be close to 25k. Friday is pay day for many so I anticipate decent sales tomorrow, and some will rock up on the day.

I reckon it’ll be about 28k on the day, maybe 30k if sales are excellent over the next two days.

In League One terms that’s excellent obviously, but I hold Sunderland to a higher standard personally. For me, it should not have been less than the recent league game.

There do seem to be some logistical things (other events in the region, late kick off, etc) which make this harder to get to than most games. Knocking 10k off the attendance of the league game can't just be down to that though. Like many I can't understand it at all. We pride ourselves on the quality of our support, this is far from impressive.

The biggest thing is the live tv. Personally, I'll watch it at the SOL and then go home and have a second viewing.

We have 4 STs in our party and only I’m going. My dad is 73 and struggles in discomfort through most games and he’s done for the season he said. My kids don’t want to go either. Daughter is only 5 so wouldn’t last anyway.

And they stay over every match?? If they can get home after a league match why do they need a hotel room Saturday?
Because this one begins at 7.30pm, 4 and a half hours later than a normal league match. Which would be the travelling time.
Midweek matches they probably aren't able to attend at all.
I'm only 12 miles away and have got my ticket.
I'll be there but like many people apparently I think it's a s**t kick off time.

No doubt the commentators on Sky will make a big deal out of the unusually low attendance without ever mentioning that it being on TV on a Saturday night is one of the main reasons why.

This is my take on this and i will ignore all idiotic and rude replies ..... if you support safc and simply choose not to go on Saturday (health , financial and logistical resons excluded)you are a lesser supporter than those who turn up to watch the dross on show and no amount of excuses changes that!Nobody is excited about turning out to watch the crap that is division one football but if your a true safc supporter its what you do!

So if so many fans cannot be bothered to go to a play off semi at home, what will it be like next season if we are in the same division.

I don't get why people are not going
