You're a shit fan in my opinion.

I understand that some people can't make it or can't afford it but if you're able to go and choosing not to cause you're annoyed at the ticket price or annoyed we didn't finish top two or whatever then you're a shit fan who isn't really supporting the team.
im saving my money for when we reach wembley. will be great watching it in the bar whilst on the piss all day..

I agree. However at the same time there's nowt wrong with people going, or saying that they enjoy going. I've had a ball this season. Watched the team winning games, players who want to play for us and travelled the country with my daughter. For that I was accused of accepting mediocrity.

Exactly, ironically that “mediocrity” has been a damn sight more enjoyable than the last 5 years following Sunderland

I'm there with the kids. Mind if we get to Wembley I might be struggling. I'm going away for a few days later that week, just paid the family holiday off and I've shelled out a fortune this season. I might have to be an armchair fan that day as funds are running low.
I go to Majorca day of final so that’s out for me as well.

We shouldn’t be anywhere near the playoffs. We are playing the worst of any team in the play offs and most people will be expecting the disappointment of being beat because we have a turd return for this kind of occasion. Can’t bkame anyone for not wanting to bother imho.

Course you can blame them, f***ing pathetic plastic wankers who can’t handle going to a game incase we lose......Again, gonna say it but there is no way that Newcastle fans would behave in such a plastic tin pot way......While people are claiming its embarrassing that we are in the 3rd tier I reckon we are in the right place for half our fans who are clearly third tier too.

I’ve decided to go, knew I would give in.

Good lad

Thing is there will be people who aren't going on Saturday who are saying theyre sick of watching dross, yet they happily sat there watching Moyes drain the life out of the club.

Exactly and they will be watching it in the pub anyway so their excuse is bull shit

Aye, unfortunately it's impossible to do everything. I'm a bit old fashioned and don't like chalking unnecessary debt. So I wouldn't just go and hoy it on a credit card. If I've got it I'll go, if not, I'll make do with watching on the telly.

We're blaming ya if we lose.

Well I’ve been to every home game this season and only lost once, it’s why I knew the attendance wouldn’t be as big on Saturday as people thought, going to the game is something that’s never out of the question until these play offs .... so If I feel like that thousands of the supporters not as devout as me were bound to as well.

Could you not just travel with a branch mate? Maybe 40 quid day return?

Two Wembley trips is a killer mind (if we get there of course!)

Wonder what percentage of the 24k season ticket holders have decided not to go ? This is more to do with expectation not being met than the price of the ticket or kick off time on a Saturday night imo. Obviously not for everyone.

People were eulogising over the 5.30 Doncaster ko time, because we won. No work or school the next day either. Our home midweek evening kick off league matches have been around 28k. People have given up on a team that is limited but fought back many times this season and cannot be accused of not giving 100% , unlike the last two campaigns.

Taking each game in context, we should have beaten Fleetwood hands down by half time. Ok , we didn't , but I've spoken to several people who went to the match from the Fylde Coast, and they all said what a good team we looked. They couldn't believe we got beat. Even tactics were mentioned as superior and that it was a freak result. I agree with that . We got robbed. Some of our fans say we were pathetic. Are they not just looking at the result, the league and the opponents name ? I'm not saying it's acceptable, but lost at Burton 2-1 this season and were worse than at Fleetwood. Wasn't a meltdown gate wise after that game.

Southend was piss poor application from a change of line up and some not looking sharp enough, some lacking confidence and others not over exerting themselves. This display was shocking. You could argue we should have pushed for 3rd spot to get Doncaster with our strongest line up, but obviously a decision was taken to not do this. Right or wrong, we are not the first side to be embedded in a play off situation and adopt this approach.

These two defeats have affected the gate no end. If we had won and drawn, you can almost guarantee 10k extra sales by this point. We played well v Pompey with 41k and no one was complaining too much. The bigger picture was that we were always likely to be in the play offs if won , lost or drew the last two games. I agree Southend was dire, but Fleetwood was not. The first half was as good as if not better than at Accrignton. They nullified us with hard work in the second half and scored twice from two chances, albeit the last touch of the game for the winner. This does not warrant 15-20k missing fans in my opinion.

I was jesting mate. I think there will be a late flurry of sales. I remember being adamant that I wasn't going to the Celtic friendly. I was dead against it as I knew exactly what would happen. I was in the queue at the ticket office on the Saturday morning.

I'd probably sort something out. The problem (well not really a problem as enjoy taking them) is I can't go without the kids. My oldest daughter will definitely want to go. The youngest daughter is only 8 and had no interest interest in football. A couple of month ago she asked if she could come to the match out of the blue amd now seems hooked. I've built some good contacts up over the years so would probably find a way if I'm honest.

I’m the same mate - I take the kids so the costs can add up quickly. To save a few quid, I’ve booked everything in advance, including travel, but can cancel if we don’t get there.

I know I’m in a minority, but I can see a big performance on Saturday. The players seem to really dislike Pompey and I fully expect them to be up for it.

That wouldn't surprise me. I've always said that the good things happen in football when you least expect it. The majority of Liverpool fans the other night would have been going to the game hoping they just kept the score down.
