Crowd for sat

The OP title is "If you're choosing not to go on Saturday," but has been taken out of context the entire thread.

This I read it as if it's your choice, totally understandable if a family member is ill work or other commitments you simply can't get out of because of the late KO.

However this is the biggest game of the season to date & it would be great to get a big crowd backing the lads for the promotion push.

One of the lads at work says he’s not going to the Portsmouth game but he will go to Wembley if we get there.

When one of the other lads challenges him on it .... “I didn’t go to a single Checkatrade game but I went to Wembley. Same thing”

I said earlier in the thread that I wouldn’t slag anyone off for choosing not to go on Sat BUT this does piss me off like.

Charlton:
Average attendance - 11k, Playoff attendance already over 20k

Portsmouth:
Average attendance - 18k, Playoff game already sold out at 19k+

Us:
Average attendance - 32k, Boxing day gate of 46k, League game against Portsmouth - 40k, Playoff game - under 25k

I'm gutted to be saying this but our stay away support is letting the club down here.

I am the first one to praise our support, and there have been so many occasions when we have been unbelievable, but this is just shattering the good image we have.

Are you trying to say that we are the only set of fans who make plans, have work, have kids, are gannin to our second cousin's, dog's, budgie's wedding? Fuck off man.

We have a hardcore of support who are there through thick and thin, which is why our away attendances are consistently excellent, but we have a huge element of fair weather twats who claim to be 'Sunlun til I die' while they watch it in the pub.

Where are all those who ran to the ticket office to get a Walsall ticket for a purchase history for Wembley? I hope their next shits a cactus.

So Charlton fans only turn up for the big games then

Our fans don't care as much about games that are not League games and are not at Wembley. Man Utd 2014 and the other home games in that run, Palace play off, Arsenal FA Cup 2012...

Piss taking off who? Portsmouth? As they prepare for their 19,000 bumper crowd? Our fiends up the road who are playing premier league but still twist and moan.... and have never experienced being fifth in league 1. Leeds, Man City, Sheffield Utd?

Plenty to take the piss out of at our club - getting 30k for a league 1 team is weak territory for the piss takers like.
We'll be rife for piss taking/criticism off anyone who doesn't follow us. A crowd of 25k this Saturday is not good whatever way you look at it.

So fuck. Just get on with it. The amount of people bothered what others think is pathetic

It is what it is lads..those of us who are there need to create the best atmosphere possible.
That's it. Well said sir

Maybe if Ross came out and said he was going to try to wim games from the off and play some decent footy then more might be inclined to turn up. The footy has been turgid this season.

It's not just me that is mental though is it? , we have currently sold about 20k home tickets versus circa 38k in the league fixture. Clearly a massive number just don't want to go to the game.
It will mainly be season card holders who don't want to pay any more money out this season, that's up to them

Or do fuck of man.

Before this season it was a case of 'I'm not coming until Short is gone' or 'I'm not watching a bunch of '

If you can't get behind the current team then who can you get behind?

Do we have to be playing like Man City before people turn up?

of all the things to care about in the world, what some internet fan-boys of other clubs think about some unspecified sunderland fans who have decided not to to attend a match is of no significance.

we've done enough following of the club in vast numbers through utter shite for a lot of years, our time has been served.

plus i'll be there, so if anyone tries to grief me personally, i can just say 'well i was there, whats your point' ?

Aye, I'm just fairly sure if sky had shown ours on TV someone would have screen shotted it, not like us and Bradford have bugger all fans, plenty would have seen it. Until seeing GOMs post the only person I had seen mention it was dangermows, and like I say he loves a wind up so I assumed he was just hoping people would take it as gospel once he said he'd seen it!

It was a blink and you'll miss it mention on SSN. You'd have needed pretty good reflexes to catch it. I think showed about 5mm of the ball not over the line. Basically, about as close as you could get.

And they stay over every match?? If they can get home after a league match why do they need a hotel room Saturday?

I stay over every match. If I hadn't got really lucky on Saturday night, I wouldn't be going.

You're a shit fan in my opinion.

I understand that some people can't make it or can't afford it but if you're able to go and choosing not to cause you're annoyed at the ticket price or annoyed we didn't finish top two or whatever then you're a shit fan who isn't really supporting the team.
What if you can't go because you made other plans, thinking that they couldn't be so f***ing inept as to need to go through the play-offs ?
