I love the stories people trot out when they are crawling for tickets. Pathetic twats

Aye but "I'm not going to the Checkatrade trophy man, its mickey mouse and embarrassing we r taking part in it"
Fast forward to 3/4 months later, and it's "anyone not using their sc so I can go to Wembley to watch us in the aforementioned mickey mouse trophy"?
Embarrassing isn't the word. :oops::rolleyes:

I still don't get it.

Going to London for a minor cup competition but refusing to pop round the corner for an important league match ... and, to some degree, seemingly because of a strange grudge against people who didn't turn out for a game against Newcastle's U21's.

It defies comprehension Reiv.

Tbf, I was disappointed with the crowd v mags but it was their kids, and plenty fans didn't want to run the risk of potential aggro.
However, this lad is obvly a supporter in the true sense of the word but has hoyed his toys out the pram because he, like many others, feels we were entitled to be in the top 2. And, in our hour of need too.
Very poor show.

I totally get that argument but, then again, I think some are looking at it from their own circumstances alone.

There will be at least 20,000, of Saturday's crowd, who wouldn't even think about going to the second leg if they were given free tickets and travel.

Are they shit supporters, bearing in mind that the second leg is more important.

Embarrassing, laughing stock, pathetic, shite fans etc, etc.......

We've just averaged 33k and had crowds of over 40k in league f***ing one ffs.

Anyone using the above to describe our fans are the ones who are pathetic, embarrassing etc,etc..

I tend to agree, although it would be disheartening to see such a low crowd for our biggest home game of the season.

For me, it's the fact that parts of our support would be ripping the piss out of other clubs if the shoe were on the other foot.

The very simple fact remains that tens of thousands of our fans made a choice not to go a cup game against our biggest and bitterest rivals yet there's absolute outrage now when people choose not to go this game

Give over man we were playing the u21’s ffs

Fuck sake the hardcore fans will find anything to have a go about to the shit fans

Some nuggets commenting here like. Do you support the club or do you support the sport of football? Might as well give up on Sunderland and go and support Manchester City.

Get your lazy arses to the match on Saturday and stop being an absolute petulant entitled bunch of pissrags. “I’ve done 84 seasons as a season ticket holder but won’t be there for the biggest game of the last decade for Sunderland because my arse has dropped”

Still not as embarrassing as these idiots who will be scouring for numbers on here if we pull it off[/QUOTE]

Certainly won't be sharing mine, even if I can't make it.

It is an interesting phenomenon if the crowd is low. My guess is combo of sc holders not being arsed to buy or niggled it's not free, live on tv, disillusioned at recent performances and chances against Portsmouth.
All above will play their part but can't deny it is disappointing when you think of comparative play off games in the past when the place has been rocking

Hopefully still push for 30k all in on the night.

I’m proud of the fans this season, I certainly wouldn’t have wanted to average 22-25k over the season, and then pushed over 40k for this one off game. That would have been harder to take for me than this.

If we were on a run of wins and momentum had taken us into the playoffs we’d be buzzing and there’d be a large crowd.

Instead we’ve capitulated and are on the worst run of form we’ve had all season by a large margin. Despondency is keeping people away.

That said, I’m going +3 and we haven’t got our tickets yet

While those are true and the manager and the team owe us rather than the other way around, it’s one last 90 minutes of football to go and support our club and try to help nudge them over the line before a whole summer off and break from them (play off final aside if we get there and the 2k we’ll have at Pompey).

The last 2 nights have shown us all exactly why we love football and that anything can happen and I get the impression many have thrown in the towel already even though it’s still only 0-0 at the minute and we still have every chance of being promoted. Until it’s impossible the team still need our support because you can guarantee Pompey will have it rocking down there in their packed out little ground so we need to go there with a lead I reckon.

Haway man lads and lasses mulling it over get yourselves a ticket and then look forward to a summer away from it all in a couple of weeks time! This isn’t aimed at you by the way mate I’m just responding to those reasons you’ve mentioned that a lot of the non goers have used as a reason to not go.

I’m looking forward to watching it in the pub rather than at the game.

Bit disappointed in the ticket sales mind.

Will exercise my season ticket holder’s right to a Wembo ticket if we get there.

Absolutely hilarious.
Comic genius.
A successor to Ken Dodd at last.

Pretty shit if we can't break 30k mind no matter what. The one game where we will really be needed and can make a difference and some seemingly can't be arsed.
